Fitz was back at his desk early Friday morning, suited once more, although looking a little haggard after his ordeal.

After submitting a report to Lumis, he got to work clearing his inbox and dealing with outstanding student queries.

"In the sense you mean, no." Fitz replied, guesturing Sergei to a chair.

He pulled a bottle out of his bottom desk drawer along with two brandy glasses. Pouring two healthy measures of the ridiculously expensive spirit, he passed one across to Sergei.

"I misjudged them, to my cost. The only consolation I can take from it is that it wasn't to yours too."

Fitz chuckled, perhaps a little ruefully.

"Now there's a story. Not entirely plesant of course, but a story none the less." He took a sip of his brandy then continued. "When you look at me, what do you see?"

FItz nodded. "They saw an overweight fop obsessed with his own appearance. I was eventually able to take advantage of that.

They started off visiting me in pairs and were met with impotent fury. Finally, one visited me alone and I took my chance. I couldn't break the chain they'd tethered me with, but once I had it round the bitches neck she was most obliging on that front. Throw in a shattered knee and she was the impotent one. After that, it was easy.

Kathrin enters Fitz' office behind him, looking feintly confused about being there as she sits down. "Something tells me this is highly inappropriate. What the hell am I doing here?" And if I'm in a professor's office, slightly drunk, on a saturday evening why isn't it Mr. Tereshchenko's?

He took a seat, swirling the brandy around in it's glass before sipping it.

"See now that part? That was appropriate." She contemplates holding her hand up dramatically, but the cut is barely worth mentioning. "And I don't have to sit here and let myself be belittled while you sip brandy." Despite her angry tone she doesn't make much of an effort to actually get up and leave, much to her own surprise.
