The Guardian: Protests at Xaviers' University

The Guardian: Protests at Xaviers' University

Postby Narrator » Thu Feb 26, 2009 10:49 pm

As promised, The Guardian offers up an article on the situation with the protesters at the Xavier's Campus.

The article gives a synopsis of the situation, with video links to the interviews with Richard Flint and Domanic Taylor.

The article is pretty balanced, giving equal weight to both men. Flint, who says that the mutants are dangerous threats to the city, and Taylor, who describes the good works that X-Corp has done, and the impeccable reputation of Charles Xavier and Samantha McManus.

At the end, the reporter gives a slight editorial in his last paragraph.

"Whatever the truth of the matter, it is clear that tensions are rising rapidly. We have a related story already breaking on serious disturbances in the Lambeth borough, often called Mutant Town. Did the Prime Minister anticipate this much difficulty assimilating a new university into the city? It's doubtful that this was forseen. The Guardian will keep you posted as this story unfolds."

There is a poll next to the story where readers can vote on several answers to the following question: 'Do you think Xavier's University belongs in London?'

Yes - 44%
No - 48%
Unsure - 8%
