[Jezabelle Sherlock]

Jez looked shocked, sitting back in her seat.

"W-what?"

[Ayami Morita]

"I said bullshit. Pull the other one, it's got bells on."

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"Ayami, I'm being serious." Jez said softly. "It's - not something that I'm proud of and it's difficult to talk about. I lost just about every friend I had back home when I made this decision. I thought that since you had a troubled past as well that you - would understand."

[Ayami Morita]

"What, so you're a..." she started, unable to finish her sentence.

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"Transsexual." Jez replied. "Or if you go by what it says on my chart; 'a person suffering from gender identity disorder'."

[Ayami Morita]

"So...you're a dude, then?"

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

Jez almost looked hurt by Ayami's question, but regained her composure.

"Some people would say that I am. I wouldn't."

[Ayami Morita]

"I don't get it..." she said, confused.

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"Neither did I at first." Jez said. "Physically, I was born a boy. But inside I know I was meant to be a girl. I may still have a Y chromosome but I consider myself female.

"Does... this make any sense now?"

[Ayami Morita]

"No," she said, flatly.

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

Jez rubbed her face with both palms, elbows on the table.

"I should have kept my mouth shut."

[Ayami Morita]

"I mean...you're, like, crossdressing, right? You like skirts and things?"

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"No, it's not like that." Jez said, shaking her head. "A cross-dresser is of one gender, mentally and physically, but dresses as another gender because the clothing is associated with the other gender.

"I was not born a girl physically, but mentally I was. I've been undergoing hormonal treatments for seven years now. When I have enough money saved I will have the final surgeries done."

[Ayami Morita]

"Surgeries? Plural?"

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

"Your private parts are pretty complex, it only makes sense that it would take more than one operation, right?" Jez asked.

"Like I said, if I couldn't have been born a girl, I wish I could have been born a shifter."

[Ayami Morita]

"Wait, so you still have...y'know, bait and tackle?"

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

Jez's face flushed. A lot.

"Um... yeah."

[Ayami Morita]

"Pfft, then you're not a girl."

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

Jez's jaw dropped and her eyes widened. She swallowed slowly and looked away from Ayami, focusing instead on the table. She pulled some cash from her purse and placed it on the table top.

"This should cover everything." She said rather flatly. "Goodnight."

With that Jez got up from her seat and began walking toward the exit.

[Ayami Morita]

Ayami just blinked. "Wha?"

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

Jez didn't answer. She just walked at a brisker place and slammed the door behind her.
