"I'll cover 'em," Nick said, going after Wingnut with floating tables covering his exit and that of whoever joined him.

"Right, Nick? Follow me, we gonna give them bastages something to deal with from BEHIND, we clear?" Wingnut said, starting down a back alley.

Cal was able to locate a gun with half a magazine left in it...certainly better than nothing...as Kat and Meg kept up blasting various fundamental forces at people--the initial adrenaline rush seemed to be wearing off, and there was more hiding in cover and things than the general running and screaming and shooting from the human thugs.

"Crystal," Nick grinned, following.

The human thugs had apparently driven in in two large panel vans, and were focused on protecting the doorway, not paying any attention to Wingnut or Nick.

Cal had a gun now, but there was just more targets than he had bullets...

"This is too easy," he smirked as he telekinetically took control of one of the idling vans and sped it towards the thugs.

There was yelling and confusion as the van slammed into one of the thugs, sending others diving out of the way.

That distraction also gave Wingnut his chance to barrel in, yelling.

Nick stepped out and started disarming anyone who happened to lose or weaken their grip in the confusion. He also lit a cigarette. Why? He had ruptured the van's gas tank as he drove it. Call it plan B.

Some people's grips DID loosen, yes.

Others tightened, like around triggers on guns pointed at Nick.

He pointed at the gas trail as he flicked the cigarette into it.

"I'd move."

He did, however, tk-move the one the van hit to safety.

"Time to try a new trick," Meg said with a grin as she stepped outside. She concentrated and cupped her hands together. Quickly, a bluish-white crackling ball of lightning form, coming to the size of a basketball in a few seconds.

Then, while the humans were still stunned from the exploding van, she hurled the ball with a grunt toward a group of them. It struck the ground but did not explode. In fact, it rolled until it stopped just short of them.

All it did was snap and crackle for a couple of seconds...

...until it blew up in a bright flash, with arcs of electricity striking out randomly, as well as a rather loud clap of thunder after the explosion.

"Flashbangs. Gotta love 'em."

The humans covered their eyes and ears, their ranks clearly broken, and began to scatter.

Cal, in the meantime, had used his gun up quickly. Did he only have a few shots? Sure. So he made 'em count, firing off a rapid fire of arm shots on the thugs in front of him, then switching back to lightning as he dropped the gun from his artificial hand.

The humans began to scatter as in the distance, the sirens of London's Finest could be heard.

"Shit and hellfire. Just what we needed right now.

Alright, scram and lay low for a few days--meet me back here in five days. The bastards think they can mess with us..." Wingnut growled.

"Consider yaselves promoted."

Nick blinked.

He's one of them?

"I'll be there," he said before flying off.

What game is he playing?

Meg didn't bother to worry about just where she stood with the gang right at the moment. She only nodded and took off as fast as she could, heading up, to get out of sight, then leveling off and heading back toward the campus, though she did so only after taking a roundabout route first.
