Sept. 2nd - Lunch

Nina headed into the cafeteria during her lunch break, getting a green salad and a soda before walking off to find a table and taking a seat.

"Not a whole lot. Signed up for the teams. Talked with some protesters. What about you?"

"About the same." Rachel said "Except in my case it was more 'fight the urge to assault the protesters'. Settling in ok?"

"Pretty well," Nina says, "I unpacked all my stuff last night before I met you at the bar, so I'm pretty comfortable in our room."

Zoe clomps her way in to the cafeteria, thick-soled boots giving her four extra inches of height so she's almost up to average. She picks out a vegetarian meal and thumps over to Rachel, recognizing her from the Academy of Tomorrow. "Heya! Mind if I join?"

Ryan came through the line about then, looking around until he spotted Rachel and Nina and... apparently, another girl he didn't know, sitting at a table. Realizing that yes, this could lead to some sort of interesting conversation, he headed over to the table they were at. "Is there room for one more?"

"Well, you know me, I take up a lot of space," Ryan chuckled, taking his seat. He turned to Zoe before he tucked into his food. "Hi, I don't think I've met you yet. I'm Ryan."

Ryan smiled warmly at Zoe's answer. "I'm glad you liked it. It gets interesting seeing just how many people follow it when I go someplace new. And don't get too used to it, Nina, I'll find the dangerous places to fly by the end of the week." To Rachel, he gave a grin and a wink, her greeting having been sandwiched between the other two.

Ryan coughed on the drink he was taking, taken back by her comment, but somehow not quite surprised. "Yes, it was," he said, seeming amused instead of flustered. "I'm glad you thought so, though, it's always good to get good reviews," he added, chuckling.

Merle grabs a burger and chips, half a salad and a bowl of soup-of-the-day. He swipes his meal card and takes an open seat. He's trying to hide his frustration, but he introduces himself politely.

"Merle McClintock, out of Surrey. How's everyone doing?"

He listens in on the conversation, eating a few chips before chiming in.
