May 11th, Chloe, Meg, Rob: We don't take this lying down

[Narrator]

Needles called Chloe, Meg and Rob into the back room, clearly annoyed.

[Meg A Ohm]

Meg stood, back against one wall facing Needles. Her arms were crossed in defiance and her look was sullen, to say the least. Even if the mission hadn't been a setup, it certainly had been all but dead on arrival; the presence of the cops had all but ensured that. The fact that they had even continued with it was only due to the need to try to get more information for the assignment.

Yet she knew damned well that Needles was likely to blame them for the fiasco. Deserved or not, its likelihood still annoyed Meg to no end.

[Chloe Grant]

Chloe walked in, and looked at Needles almost challengingly, daring him to blame her for what had happened.

[Robert West]

Rob hummed to himself, clearly as arrogant as always.

[Narrator]

"And what happened yesterday?"

[Chloe Grant]

"We got sent into a trap."

[Narrator]

"A trap?"

[Robert West]

"A device in which something, usually an animal, can be caught and penned," Rob says in a helpful tone.

[Narrator]

"Wiseass."

[Chloe Grant]

"We got to the place, some flatties were already there, and the cops were out front." Chloe replied "Trap."

[Narrator]

"Alright.

Which one of the other newbies do you think sprung it? The crazy red-head? Captain Leather Jacket?"

[Chloe Grant]

"Kat is cool." Chloe replied "And Nick is too dumb to come up with a plan like that."

[Narrator]

"John, then? He seems pretty fucking shady..."

[Chloe Grant]

"Coulda been." Chloe said with a shrug "Unless it was you."

[Narrator]

"Watch your lip, or it'll become a fat one."

[Meg A Ohm]

"The question you should be asking is not who sprung the fucking trap, but why it was there in the first place," Meg said, her voice far more controlled than she would have expected. "We go there to make your delivery and the place is already being staked-out by the cops. Then, when one of us gets inside, the guy's dead. Seems to me someone knew far more about the place well in advance of us showing up."

[Narrator]

Needles nodded. "Rest assured, this is being....looked into," he said, seriously.

"But right now, I think we need to pay those bastages a lesson, right?"

[Chloe Grant]

"Right."

[Narrator]

"The people you dragged back talked...eventually.

Their part of a group called Blue Earth--keep humanity pure, and all that," he spat.

[Meg A Ohm]

"Great," Meg replied, turning up her nose at the mention of the group. "Another bloody group of flatscan circlejerks."

[Narrator]

"Yeah. The scum of the Earth.

Which is why we're gonna go do some cleaning."

[Chloe Grant]

"Just tell us when and where."

[Narrator]

"The Blue Earth, or part of 'em, anyway, has a meeting later today. We've got no idea where, unfortunately, so you're gonna find out.

Tommy Verciletti is one of their lieutenants, and he always has lunch in the same restaurant every day. You're gonna go there, rig his car with an explosive, trail him to the meeting, and then blow up his car and everyone around it."

[Robert West]

"And then we kill their kids," Rob says cheerfully, "We kill their wives, we kill their parents and their parents' friends. We burn down the houses they live in and the stores they work in, we kill people that owe them money."

"I like the way you think, boss," Rob says with a grin.

[Narrator]

"A real go-getter. That's what we need in this organization," Needles smirked.

[Robert West]

"So, is this a do it yourself project?" Rob asks, "Or do you have more packages to hand out?"

[Narrator]

"I have some plastic explosives and blasting caps, unless you have a better way of doing it."

[Chloe Grant]

"That'll do." Chloe said "Unless Doc here has a better plan."

[Robert West]

"Disintegration packet," Rob says, "I have one at my workshop. I can turn a hundred yard radius into a vacant lot like that."

Rob snaps.

"Best of all? No pesky evidence when the coppers start sniffing around."

[Meg A Ohm]

"And just what is the delay time on that packet," Meg asked. "I'd rather not get my atoms separated trying to do the same to someone else, just because a fuse was a second slower than estimated."

[Robert West]

"My estimates are never wrong," Rob says flatly.

[Narrator]

"Right. Well, good luck to ya," Needles said, shooing them out
