Name: Jayda ‘Dominion’ NightRidge
Age: 19 Birthday: 13th August, 2002
Powers:
Ressurection:
‘Dominion’ is able to resurrect when killed. Her body evaporates into smoke at the "fatal blow" and then reforms, with one physical part of her countenance changed. She feels pain more fiercely than anyone though as a side effect and if the blow is not mortal she has to recover twice as long than a normal person would have too, if it is fatal she reforms totally healed.
Side effects: Every time she dies a new tattoo appears on her body, the intensity of emotion around time of death is relevant to the size of the tattoo. (currently has 4 of varying sizes, largest being visible on her right forearm) She stays dead for a period of 5 hours before Rez.
There's an unproven assumption that if the smoke is kept from recombining, she can't regenerate. Water/drowning is something that will stop her from regen and she avoids them avidly.
Shadow Stepping: Range at present is distance of sight, though this would increase in distance as she develops this power. Shadows need to be large enough for her to place two feet inside, she literally steps into one and out another (at her descretion) much like a wormhole effect. She could reach through with her hand and pick up a book, pulling it back without using her whole body.
She can take whatever she is holding, not limited by material, she could carry a human or a spoon ie. (random I know but I am like that) . It is an instanteous transition from one shadow to the other. To Jayda shadows are doorways, if she looks at them she can see all of the possible exits out the other side.
Personality:
Jayda is not a people pleaser though nor is she a grievous bitch. Hates swimming and Water. Loves physical activities, sports, training, combat training. She is a prankster, loves to laugh and live on the wild side. Her extreme ability means nothing is verboten to the girl. Kamikazi cause she can’t die IHO not because she’s suicidal. Dominion is fearless, confident and would just throw herself in the deep end. She is strong, feisty and loyal to those she cares about.
Dominion is a grey area. Since her father’s death she has cared little for her own life though her sister Rhiannon’s is valued.
Description:
Jayda loves to wear cargo/ army pants, t-shirts are a staple of her existence & she loves graphic, vintage and band t’s. She will be found wearing boots or flat shoes/trainers. She is Never without her father’s dog tags or her leather jacket. She is 5’8, athletic build, medium sized breasts, sable hair and eyes, poses an olive complexion and several tattoos.

Background:
Jayda NightRidge was born the day her mother died, a tragedy that she has never dwelt upon and doesn't consider relevant to her existence. (In the backroom of The Pussycat Palace on the Vegas strip.) The newborn was taken in by a caring yet elderly relation and lived a normal life until at the age of five her biological father, Michael Nightridge, found her, taking her to live with his family in Alabama.
Now finding herself with a younger sister and a mother who is not at all impressed by her existence Jayda spent the majority of her time with her father. The girl grew up worshipping her father who took her everywhere with him (being not oblivious to his wife's dislike) and treated her like a 'son.' He taught her how to use weapons, hand to hand and guns, trained her in Krav Maga - he had high expectations and expected her to excel.
The affection between the two was obvious and lasted until the day that Jayda discovered her powers. A head on collision with a truck proved to be the fatal undoing of Michael Nightridge and his 14 year old daughter, killing them both instantly. A paramedic at the scene later described the moment when the girls pulverized corpse 'vaporized' underneath his hands as 'truly astounding' and he went on to detail in expletives his astonishment at finding the perfectly intact and undamaged girl sitting huddled beside the car hours later. The girl had no real memory of the accident or how she got to be where she was. Her death being written off as being the product of an overzealous paramedic it was 'forgotten'.
Jayda was delivered back to her father's wife and a tattoo appeared on her right forearm within days and the panicked girl kept it hidden from her step-mother. Who later found it and this was the first time her step-mother laid hands on her, Jayda could have defended herself (killed the woman) but out of a desire to protect her younger sister from the truth and guilt of he own over her fathers death she just endured it.
In grieving her father Jayda tried to kill herself by stepping in front of a train in an act of 'Why not me' guilt and had her first accountable experience with her 'gift'. Remembering the entire incident, the point of impact, her bones breaking and then losing conciousness, Jayda 'awoke' to find herself crouched on the very same train track in the dead of night. She had another smaller tattoo. (The size of which is relevant to emotional intensity in regards to her death.)
Katherine, her step-mother, joined a group that believed being a mutant was a disease and set about ostricising Jayda. Jayda reacted surprisingly stoicly, never having desired any affection bar her fathers (and later her sisters) and has never even let this abuse bother her. She knows it makes her who she is but isn't the definition of who she is.
Her younger sister Rhiannon began to covet her sister as a Hero, idolising the tough street-wise teen. The hero worship earned Jayda nothing but hatred from Rhiannon's mother, Katherine. Katherine would always tell Rhiannon to stay away, that Jayda was a bad influence, that Jayda was responsible for her father's death, but Rhiannon never wavered. Sometimes at night, Rhiannon would crawl into Jayda's bed and curl up with her, only to discover the next morning, Jayda had some new bruise or cut somewhere. She'd always ask, and always get the same answer.
One evening, when she was 18 and Rhiannon was 16, Rhiannon discovered her mother and a friend of hers hitting and punching Jayda in the alleyway out beside the house where the dumpsters were.
Rhiannon grew so angry and shrieked in rage at her mother, feeling her hand reach out and emit something towards her mother, and watched, horrified, as her mother's skin bubbled beneath the surface, the blood boiling out of her pores. Her friend took off, and was soon admitted into an insane asylum.
They covered up Rhiannon's "accident" for nearly a year and Jayda took it upon herself to care for her younger sister, training her as she was trained and teaching her everything she knew.
Jayda is at the school to learn power control and for her college education, she has a desire to expand on what she knows of other mutants (which is slim to none). There is a high likely hood that having been around her sisters developing powers Jayda would like to become a mutant expert and power development Trainer later on. And because they needed to get the heck out of the US after her sister toasted her mom.
It is the thought that Jayda and her ability were being tracked by the mutants/agency (x-corp?) that knew her Father before he died. (He was a techno freak known as Mickey Perfect who could identify any faults with items by simply looking at them.). When the two sisters disappeared off the radar, thanks to some fancy shadow hopping footwork, they were later hunted down again by thier father's old friend and boss then given a choice. Jayda choose the school for them both.
