((after the party fiasco))

Cal's side hadn't really been hurt, so he managed to get back to his room and clean up before Melody was discharged from the infirmary. Now he helped her back to her room, supporting her as much as she needed (even if she decided she couldn't get there under her own power).

He helped her to bed (turning off his visual processing as he did, so that nothing could be recorded and he wouldn't actually see what his eyes were processing), then decided it was prudent to make sure she was all right. So he flopped over on her couch, unplugging his eyes before he did, and setting them next to a note that said "Don't worry, I can't see you" on her coffee table.

Melody woke up when a shaft of light from the window struck her face in the late morning. Blinking her eyes to clear the sleep, she groaned. "Fuck me...this is way more than a hangover. Bleghhh," she whined.

Taking a deep breath and wiping her hands across her face she sighed and just laid in her bed, looked over and saw Cal laying on her couch.

"Oh...good morning," she said, "Shit. How'd you get here?"

Then the memories started flooding back to her.

"Oh fuck..."

Cal blinked, then blinked again when he couldn't see anything. Then, remembering the night before, he reached over to the table and picked up his eyes, plugging them back, in. "Sorry... I figured it'd help keep your roomies from freaking out if they found me sleeping on their couch," he yawned as his visuals came online. "'Morning. And you let me in here last night. I just figured I should stick around to make sure you were okay in the morning."

"Yeah..." she said covering her face with her hands, still laying in her bed on her back, "yeah, it's coming back to me. Fuck. What a night."

Her hands dropped and she sat up suddenly, wincing slightly afterwards. "Oh god. I rememb....shit. I cannot believe I threw up on you. I'm so sorry. Oh god. That....that's so embarrassing. I can hold my liquor, I swear."

Cal winced. "I was sort of hoping you wouldn't remember that part. Yeah, your liquor you can hold, but you got beaten around and fucked with by vampires. I think that earns you a 'let's not worry about that' on throwing up."

"Still," she said, falling back onto her bed, "it's gross."

Melody sighed and rubbed her head. "I've seen some weird things in my day, but I didn't realize there were actually vampires. I feel like shit," she said. "The more important question, is when do I get to blow up the motherfuckers that used me for a late-night snack?"

"Brat," Cal smirked. "Seriously, though... how are you feeling today? I was kind of worried last night." More than worried, Cal had felt pretty responsible for what had happened to her. Going to the party had been his idea, and he'd been the one who'd decided to finish his drink before following her outside, at which point she'd already been attacked and bitten.

"I feel like I got hit by a bus, and hope that I don't start getting burned by the sunlight or thinking of you like a snack," she smirked. "I mean. I had my blood sucked last night. Does this mean I'll be one of them like in the movies? I guess it's not really a huge worry for me. But.. you know, it's crossed my mind once or twice now."

Melody stretched out in her bed, revealing her midriff and the top of her underwear unintentionally, before laying back on her side and pulling her sheet up. "I'm also cold. But other than that. I feel okay. Puked up most of my beer, so no hangover," she smirked.

When she mentioned being cold, Cal picked up the blanket he'd used on the couch and walked over to her bed, covering her up with it. "How about food? Are you hungry? You probably ought to drink something, at least, since you lost blood and didn't have much to drink after it."

Melody snuggled up underneath the blanket, smiling at Cal. "You're a sweetheart, you know that?"

She smiled at him without saying anything for a moment, then spoke, "I suppose I am a bit hungry and thirsty. Too lazy to do anything about it though, so don't worry," she giggled.

Melody couldn't see her clock from where she lay in bed.

"I dunno. What time is it? Probably later than breakfast. Um. Hell. I dunno. There's not much I dislike, food's my friend. If it's breakfast time, get me something breakfasty but easy to eat in bed. Yeah. Regardless of what time it is, get me something like a sandwich or some shit. With some meat. Maybe some garlic to ward off my impending vampirism," she smirked.

Cal looked at the clock and scowled. "Yeah, too late for breakfast, I think. I'll go see what I can scare up, though, okay?" Cal winked at her as he headed out the door.

He turned back up about twenty minutes later with a couple carry-out boxes. "All right... we have selections. We have the ever-popular big-ass loaded cheeseburger, and to fill your last request, there's a chicken parmesan sandwich. On garlic bread. Lady's choice who gets what, I'm good with either."

She took a big bite of her sandwich, 'Just, you know," she said before swallowing, "maybe chug your beer and follow your date outside if she's tipsy and going 'let's go outside!'" she smirked playfully.

She was silent for a moment, pondering what remained of her sandwich as she continued to eat.

"So did I let you stay in the room while I changed last night?" she asked with a mischievous gleam in her eye.
