May 8th: Tiger's Bar

[Logan]

In a dark corner of a dark bar on a dark Tuesday, the man known as Logan, hat pulled down over the brim of his eyes, was drinking a beer, and waiting.

[Nick Varkan]

Nick entered the bar and made his way to the dark corner.

Called to meet with Wolverine. Fucking epic.

[Meg A Ohm]

The note said 'No spandex'. That was fine as far as Meg was concerned. She preferred a bit of leather anyway. In this case, a leather coat, leather pants and some platform leather boots, all in black.

Nevertheless, being asked to meet Logan for something, especially given the location, was not an invitation that Meg took lightly. Whatever the issue, if he felt that you were of use, you did not turn him down.

And she was glad to see a familiar face, though she was wise enough to not react to it with more than a nod, as she made her way to the table where Logan sat.

[Logan]

"Ladies," Logan nodded.

[Meg A Ohm]

"Sir," Meg said. She was honestly surprised that her voice didn't crack. To hide her nervousness, she pulled a seat over and sank down into it, grateful to be off her suddenly wobbly legs.

[Nick Varkan]

"I'm gonna let that go, considering the levels of badass you have on, well, everyone," he smirked as he sat.

[Logan]

"We're waitin' for a couple more folks, if you wanna get somethin' to drink and all.

Wise boy," he said to Nick.

[Meg A Ohm]

Meg placed a quick order for a rum-and-coke. She was not about to get sloshed here and now, but God knew she could use a bit of alcohol to ease her nerves.

[Nick Varkan]

Nick ordered a beer. He wasn't very nervous, but hey beer with Wolverine.

[Chloe Grant]

Chloe walked into the bar. She was, uncharacteristically, wearing a short, hot pink skirt and a fitted black t-shirt. Knee high boots, worn over fishnets completed the outfit, along with her fighting spurs, which hung from a thong around her neck. Oddly, she didn't seem nervous or awkward, but rather quietly determined. She went to the bar, got a beer, and headed to the table.

[Robert West]

Rob takes a seat, holding a beer.

[Meg A Ohm]

Meg considered the growing group with a bit of humor. Logan's trying to look subtle and we're anything but that. Between clothing styles and hair colors, how we're not attracting more attention is beyond me.

[Logan]

"Arright, we'll let the stragglers straggle.

I've got somethin' for you all to work on. Somethin' a little below-decks."

[Bobby Bowen]

One more person approached the table, a relatively inconspicuous man wearing trousers, a shirt, well-worn brown leather jacket, and thick mechanic's work boots.

It wasn't often Bobby went about non-metal, and he used the unfamiliarity well.

"Whatever you need, Logan."

[Logan]

"Just what I wanted to hear," he said, smirking.

"I've been away for a while. Business. Towards the end, I was in the Andes, and I tracked a number of shipments of coke back to Mother England. I come back and find the balance of power's shifted. Under our headmistress's nose, that is, down where no one bothers to look."

[Robert West]

"Is it under the couch?" Rob asks, "Everyone always forgets to check there, I swear."

[Logan]

"Cute.

There's a war going on in London, and the Thousand Sons are winning."

[Bobby Bowen]

Bobby frowned at that.

"Well, that's not good."

[Robert West]

"I've always been more of a Spurs fan myself."

[Logan]

"They popped up seemingly out of nowhere months ago, but they already seem to have a strong foothold in the city, and seem to be increasing it daily. Mutants, mostly, of the type that ain't to keen to go hand-in-hand with normies singing Kumbaya."

[Kathrin Schmidt]

Kat was pretty much wearing regular clothes, baggy pants, boots and a jacket over a tanktop. She didn't really have to dress up (or down?) to fit into the place. She quietly slipped into a seat at the table.

[Meg A Ohm]

"A bunch of gang-bangers smuggling coke seems a bit...well, mundane, even if they are mutants. Outside of them being mutants, what can you tell us about these Thousand Suns?"

[Logan]

"Heh, would be, wouldn't it.

There's rumors that they're behind some of the more...interesting crimes of the past few months. Bodies turning up, mutilated. Armored cars disappearing from their routes between stops. The disappearance of the MV Albacore."

[Nick Varkan]

"Anything more concrete than rumors?"

[Logan]

"What are you looking for, bub, a photo with the words "We're the Thousand Sons" on it?"

[Nick Varkan]

"Then that's the job isn't it? Learn what they've really been up to?"

[Logan]

"Most gangs we don't deal with like this. 'Course, this isn't most gangs.


First of all, it's nearly all mutants, which is unusual. Secondly, we've arrested a number of people, all of whom have readily admitted to being part of the gang---but that's all. No other information about them.

And believe me, if they had any more information, they woulda spilt it," he said, laughing coarsely.

"Normally I wouldn't involve anyone on this, do it myself, but I'm not exactly inconspicuous, while the lot of you still are."

[Meg A Ohm]

Meg smirked slightly. "In other words, we still look like teens and you...don't. What's that old show from the '80s? 22 Leapstreet? Sounds like we're going to do something along those lines."

[Logan]

"I try not to watch old shitty television.

There's apparently...some kind of recruitment drive going on tomorrow at a bar over in Mutant Town, believe it or not. Rather brazen.

This is the point where you back out now if you can't handle this. You'll be getting a lot of leeway from the university on this one, but don't abuse it. You're goal is to get INTO this gang, find out who the leaders are, and report back so we can figure out what to do about it. You'll be answering to me and to McManus, primarily. And I don't wanna see this on anyone's XUNet.

Any questions?"

[Meg A Ohm]

"I don't know about this gang, but it's not exactly uncommon to have fresh meat go through some kinda initiation. Hell, some gangs want you to rob or kill people as part of it. How are we supposed to deal with some of those nastier issues? And what about the cops in general, especially if we're forced to confront them?"

[Logan]

"You have some leeway, like I said, but try to keep yourself out of situations like that as much as possible.

However, it's high priority to take these bastards down, so you're gonna have to decide what yer willin' to do. No killin--this ain't Lumis' show anymore. We have a couple plans we're keeping in our back pocket should we need to try to pull one over.

As for the cops, try not to run into 'em. We'll get you out in the end, of course, but that ends your involvement in the mission.

If any of this bothers you, you're free to back out."

[Nick Varkan]

"Do any of us look bothered?" he smirked.

[Meg A Ohm]

Meg nodded at Nick's question. "I'm not bothered. But we needed to know where we'd be standing when the the stuff hits the fan."

[Logan]

"You are backed by the university. Just, no one will be lookin' over your shoulder."

[Meg A Ohm]

Meg shrugged. "That pretty much covers my worries for the moment, then,"

[Bobby Bowen]

"Okay, Renko's in charge back at the garage until this is over, then," He said to Nick and Meg.

"If we are in on this, we don't go back to the Brassworks until it's over. Total undercover."

[Meg A Ohm]

Smiling at Bobby, she asked "I take it this doesn't count as overtime?"

[Bobby Bowen]

"And no course credit. Take it up with the registrar," he replied, smirking.

[Calvin Strong]

"THey raise a good point," Cal said from the next table, where he'd been silently listening. "Do we have a place to crash for this, or are we figuring on no one noticing us making our way back to the school?"

[Logan]

"There's an apartment you can use if you want. It ain't luxury."

If you wanna pose as a college student, though, campus might be the better place to go."
