Sept 18th - Ayami's song?

Postby Constantine McGraw » Mon Mar 30, 2009 10:47 pm

Having decided to stay on campus for the rest of the day, Con was perched on the edge of one of the buildings overlooking the quad, guitar in hand.

He was a little sore after his knifework session with Rachel, but after a moment, he rolled his arms and shoulders out and started to play.

He had his coat off, but the two sheathed knives he was wearing wouldn't be readily apparent. The rigging for his back sheath was concealed under his t-shirt and the knife he'd brought for practice was in concealed in his boot.

Looking up at Con starting to play from the quad she stops and listens to him play for a bit. After a while she breaks up and flies up to the rooftop, reassembling herself next to Con.

"Would you mind if we try to sing along?"

"You know the words?" Con asked, sounding surprised.

"No, but that's not important." She smiles before collapsing into a pile of bugs, spreading out over the rooftop.

After a few testing chirps the grasshoppers start to "sing" along, letting individual chirps flow into each other to generate longer notes to back up Con's guitar. After a while she seems to be getting a better feel for the song and starts providing a backdrop of several different voices to Con's playing.

Okaaaaay.. that wasn't what I was expecting Con thought, wondering if Teri knew the song she was 'singing' along to was one about a monster.

It's hard to judge a swarm of insects, but if Teri knows the song she apparently doesn't care about the monster thematic. In fact, she seems rather at ease for a pile of usually very twitchy bugs.

Con chuckled inwardly as he finished up Godzilla and moved seemlessly into a new song.

It takes Teri a while but after a while of singing along she seems to recognize the song and a few loud chirps mix into her 'concert'. It could be in protest, but since she doesn't stop completely it seems more like an attempt at laughing, especially as several handful of locust swarm up independently of each other and start 'dancing' frantically in twisting spiral patterns.

Con closed his eyes, concentrating on the music. Teri's 'singing' wasn't a problem, but the locusts flying around were a little distracting.

Finishing up Creeping Death, he moved on to something by Slayer

Mercy walks over to see the music that afternoon, and stands bemusedly watching the insect chorus line.

As Con moves on to Slayer she gives up after a few seconds of trying, the song not having enough of a clear enough melody to go on and a bit too fast for her to keep up as well, so the insects sit still while she listens to him play.

Con didn't hear Mercy's approach immediately, but once Teri's 'singing' stopped, his ears picked out the unexpected additional sound.

Finishing up the song, he opened his eyes and looked to see who it was.

"Most of the music I'd request needs a whole band, but I liked what you were doing there." Mercy creates a pool of Darkforce with a small rise on one end, and sits down on it, leaning against the little rise.

At the much better suited song the locust chime in again, this time trying to emulate the lyrics.

As Con packs up his guitar and talks to Mercy Teri takes to the air, happily chirping away with a song more suited to her musical abilities as the swarm flies in figures around the quad.

Con nodded in response, picking up the guitar case and stepping off the roof, plumetting to the ground below.

His knees bending slighly as he hit, he walked off as if it had been nothing more than a large step.
