McCoy nods and the various additional suggestions make their way up on the panels. "Again, we see the two main types of technological aids, those that can be of use to many and those that are specific to a few. Wolverine is an excellent example; without his mutation, any of us that received an adamantium skeleton would simply not survive the process. Firearms and flamethrowers can be used by anyone, but in the hands of someone with an appropriate power, their effect is amplified."

McCoy draws back the covering on the table, revealing a number of iconic items: an early design of Cyclops' visor, a helmet worn by Magneto, and similar pieces of gear. He hefts these and starts to pass them around the class for the students to examine more closely. "In some cases, these devices are even required for a mutant to function. Scott Summers, for example, is unable to control his optic blasts. Without assistance, he is a hazard to anyone around him. His visor," he points to the one in circulation, "is useless without his power. But, when the two are combined, they are far more powerful than either individually."

"Are there any questions about tools and powers?"

Mercy hefts the helmet. "Is this REALLY one of Magneto's helmets? That's wicked."

"Yes, it really is. Circa 1997, if my memory serves me correctly."

"Now then, moving on. Let us talk about environmental factors." And with that, Beast launches into a guided discussion on how the elements of different environments, from urban to wilderness, arctic to desert, night to day, all can have an impact on how useful a given mutant power is. The class flies by quickly and McCoy does a good job of engaging the student body.

"For Monday, your assignment is to research one military engagement where terrain, technology, or training served as a 'force multiplier' and submit a four page written report. That is one thousand words for Monday."

"Any historical period?" Con asked

McCoy nods to Constantine, "As long as it is historical and not fictional."

So Marathon, Themopylae or Platea. Con mused, who'd done a little research on the period after reading Gemmel's Lion of Macedon.

[Zoe Walker]

"Wheeeeeee more homework. I thought the X-Team classes were supposed to be practical," she grumbles faintly.

[Will Stanton]

"I'm sure it'll get to something more practical sooner or later. Like, a lecture/lab format kinda thing, yeah?"

"That being said, woo, writing words. Bah."

[Zoe Walker]

"Not to mention history. I get enough of that in my art history class," she smirks, "Still, it's Friday, guess I can't complain too much."

[Will Stanton]

"I am sure you are more than capable of complaining," Will smiled.

"But, even though it's Friday, I'm afraid I'm going to have to be a bit of a homebody. I'm still beat up from last night. Your ankle doing OK?"

[Zoe Walker]

"Bruised but not broken. The infirmary did a good job of speeding the healing along. As long as I don't need to push my power again like I did against that giant I should be fine. I think I'm gonna head out to that bash in mutant town tonight, maybe get drunk and stuff."

[Will Stanton]

"I'm sure that will be a blast. Not entirely my scene, but it shouldn't suck, at the very least. I'd go, but I need a good night's sleep, y'know?"

[Zoe Walker]

"A good night's sleep starts around four AM and goes until past noon," she grins and winks, "But I get you. Gonna be hanging out with anyone tonight?"

[Will Stanton]

Will pauses for a moment.

"I suppose that depends on how busy everyone is..." he says, thinking.

[Zoe Walker]

"I'm sure there'll be some people hanging around campus, yeah? Still, if you wanna hang out, track me down. Got my number?"

[Mercy Wilkins]

Mercy chews on her pen. "Hmmm, what are you guys going to write on? I'm thinking maybe D-Day, or is that too easy?"

[Will Stanton]

"I'm sure there'll be some people hanging around campus, yeah? Still, if you wanna hang out, track me down. Got my number?"

"I'm sure I do, somewhere. Likely in my phone...really, though, I've got to pay someone back for something. Maybe tonight."

[Zoe Walker]

"Null persp. Gimme a ring when you have time," she grins.

[Will Stanton]

"...sorry, 'Null persp'?" Will said, in utter confusion.

[Zoe Walker]

"Hmm? Oh, uh, variation on old slang. Null persperation, no sweat."

[Will Stanton]

"...I'm almost positive I've never heard that one before. Arright."

[Zoe Walker]

"I try to butcher the English language in new and creative ways," she winks playfully.

[Will Stanton]

"Well, you certainly are good at THAT," Will teased back.

[Zoe Walker]

"I aim to overachieve," she giggles, "but I think I'm going to head back to my room and zonk for a while so I can stay up late and party. Catch you!"

"See you around, Zo."

Mercy chews on her pen. "Hmmm, what are you guys going to write on? I'm thinking maybe D-Day, or is that too easy?"
