Apr 10, a balcony

Postby Will Stanton » Thu Oct 14, 2010 11:10 pm

Will was scratching her arm frustratingly as she looked out over the landscape.

Stan was doing some laps in the sky, and he angled down once he saw Will out in the open.

"Itchy?" he asked as he landed and shifted to human form.

"Mind bogglingly so. And a little hot, too."

Despite this, Will was still a tad frozen from the liquid nitrogen, although no longer dangerous to touch.

"Would make sense..." she agreed, rolling up a sleeve.

No freezer burn, though it did feel like she had been in the walk-in freezer.

Stan, however, had some experience with shifters, in his son, and, while it might be too faint to be visible with the naked eye under most circumstances, he might just be able to make out some slight ripples in the flesh, moving around.

"Hmm.. faint Whitney ripples.."

Stan peered closer, digging out a small spyglass lupe he had found in a storeroom inside.

Indeed, Whitney ripples! All over the arm, at the very least.

"Whazzis?" she asked, puzzled.

"It's a symptom common to shapeshifters, who suddenly experience a new phase shift to something more liquid-like. Your body is suddenly composed of something more unstable then what you are used to, and your regular degree of control isn't sufficent to keep solid."

Stan shifted the lupe to the other arm, peering through.

Yup, over here, too.

"Well, bad deal.

When I kinda reformed, I was...well, basically a standing, 3D puddle of water thing. Would that be related?"

"Oh, so you've dealt with this before then?" Will said, somewhat relieved.

Anywhere Stan would move the glass, more ripples would appear.

Stan chuckled.

"We always underestimate what we can do when we put our minds to something. I mean, who would have thought we would have survived a dystopian future, up to now?"

A little while and several corridors later, Stan stood before a storage closet.

Stan chuckled, opening the door.

Inside was a thin pressure suit, designed to resist sudden atmospheric changes.

"This should help. For now, until we can get you on a proper mental discipline program, we need to keep you in a humanoid shape so you can relax you mind, not worry about holding your shape."

Will opened the back of the suit, and squeezed in--a bit oddly, actually, as she was conforming to the shape of the suit almost as much as vice-versa.

Once Will was inside, more or less, Stan activated a switch on the side, causing the panels to constrict and stiffen. Will would find himself just about regular size, and the added servos in the joints made movement fairly easy as well.

"Try it out for a little bit.."

"It's just temporary, until we get back home."

Stan circled Will, having him step in place and raise his arms, and then do some jumping jacks.

Stan finished the tweaking until he was satisfied.

"Ok, the suit has your parameters set. just hit the red release patch, and it will fall away so you can do what you do- I'd recommend staying inside the suit as much as possible, though."
