Alex "Foxfire" Campion

Postby Alex Campion » Thu Mar 26, 2009 4:17 pm

Character Name: Alex Campion
Codename: Foxfire
Country of Origin: United States of America
Hometown: Koontz Lake, Indiana
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Age: 21
Date of Birth: August 3, 2000

---------------------------------------------

Power Explanation: Alex's body is composed entirely of a colony of fungus, allowing him to alter his form at will. He can also adapt his fungal cells to have any property possessed by wild fungi. This includes color alteration and the duplication of both toxic and medicinal properties. He can even alter the chitin content of his individual fungal cells to simulate bones, teeth, and nails or produce a relatively weak natural armor (like that of an insect). While he possesses a single consciousness, his cells operate as if a hive mind. This allows him to break his body into more than one colony, or leave pieces of himself behind as spies. He can also influence the growth of fungus outside his body.

Physical Description: Almost whatever shape he desires. However his default form is a lanky 5'9" young man with white "hair" and a tanned, yet oddly pale, complexion.

History: Alex had a relative normal small town upbringing. It wasn't special in any way until the day he learned he could manipulate fungus. As a mutant, he was shunned by his family and fled to the Xavier Institute. He went through making little impression on anyone and graduated with honors.

After celebrating with a few friends, he was beaten to near death by anti-mutant thugs and left in a coma. As he slept in a X-Corp hospital , his body began to change into what it is now. Just over three years later... he awoke.

When you say "alter his form at will" do you mean he's a shapeshifter like Will or Zero? Or is it just his form is more adaptable?

More like Will, but not nearly as diversified. He could conceivably mimic other people but the likeness wouldn't pass close scrutiny.

Can he freely change his mass or is it limited to the amount of colonies currently in his body?

He can change mass given time to grow, which is much faster than an actual fungus. Not "on the fly" though.

Can he imitate *any* Fungi or just mushrooms?

Not just mushrooms, but he's most familiar with mushrooms at present.

Another hive-mind huh? ^_^

How does his body react to damage / destruction of some of its mass? I assume he has no organs anymore?

Cell death would reduce his mass, but it would take killing every cell in his body to truly kill him. Granted, if he only had a few cells he'd be very primitive mentally until he regrows.

Does he lose memories or personality with a large mass loss? What's the physical threat?

His mind would recover, but it would be traumatic and there could be mental problems (including memory loss) from the sudden shock of it.
