An Unassuming House

[Narrator]

((Note--I'm keeping this description very light, for Khan or another mod to edit into whatever they want when they are able-just getting people out of the cars))

The two cars ended up pulling up outside a somewhat ramshackle looking house on the outskirts of London. Of course, looks could be deceiving...

For underneath the house, and several others along the same area, was a hollowed out underground series of rooms, choked to he brim with high-tech scanners, maps, warning systems, defense systems--everything the rebellion could get their hands on.

[Daniel Uriel]

Daniel, finally able to move, was bandaging his shoulder and swearing quietly as he got out of the van.

[Robin Stanton]

As people exit the van it systematically starts to fall apart until it looks even less like something that could possibly be used to drive. Robin is standing next to it and waits for everyone to head inside, keeping an eye on Daniel and Aiden in particular.

[Daniel Uriel]

Daniel watched the van collapsed, and couldn't exactly hide that he was impressed.

"Heh... look, Fafnir, Sweet Cheeks can't stop checking us out," he mused, knowing perfectly well why they had her attention.

[Veronica Freud]

"Christ, is everyone from Genosha as annoyin' as you? Seriously, yer makin' me wanna join their side." Ronnie sighed.

[Robin Stanton]

"Bring a radiation suit if you do." Robin deadpans.

[Veronica Freud]

"Oh, right, it's gone." Veronica said softly. Maybe she was being hard on Daniel. After all his home didn't exist in this timeline.

"Sorry."

[Robin Stanton]

"They're better off than the ones rotting in prison."

[Veronica Freud]

"Arguably." Veronica said. "At the very least a prisoner can be a strain on the system. The more trouble ya cause without doin' enough to get ya killed, the more manpower has to be focused on keepin' yer group in line instead of huntin' out new people."

She shrugged. "Worked for Allied POWs anyway."

[Robin Stanton]

"They probably weren't locked down like they do with us when they catch us. You're lucky when they got an inhibitor collar to spare for you."

[Rick Ferguson]

Rick exited the Willmobile, heading over to the others. He saw Daniel's wound and arched an eyebrow.

"Karma's a bitch."

[Veronica Freud]

"And there's nothing we can do?" Veronica asked. The normally perky, positive, optimistic 'we can save the world' girl was starting to sound more and more defeated.

[John Hino]

John, the most obvious of all of them, moved inside quickly and quietly.

"I do hope there's more to this hideout."

[Robin Stanton]

"We try when we get the chance to."

[Sara Stanton]

"Guess you wouldn't want a hideout to look like much from the outside..." she says as she follows John inside, casting a glance at Robin on the way.

[Rick Ferguson]

"Especially when you're living right in enemy territory..."

He also glanced at Robin, then to Sara, thinking about how weird it going to be to see his own daughter.

[Aiden Mitchell]

Aiden chuckled.

"Cannot blame her, Scion. We are quite a sight," Aiden said stretching a little now that he was able to move fully.

[Taliesin]

Talisean shifted back, and, shifting his finger into a key, unlocked the door.

The house itself was pretty much empty--some token furniture scattered around.

He made a beeline for the staircase, and pressed a secret panel...which caused a trap door to open up.

"Step lively."

[Will Stanton]

Will walked over to Sara, giving her a quick hug. "Holding up?"

[Sara Stanton]

"I guess? This is all so weird..."

[Will Stanton]

Will kept an arm around her. "It will all be OK...it will all be OK...it will all be OK."

[John Hino]

"I don't know about our Acolyte friends, but I'd prefer to get inside sooner rather than later," John said as he entered the trap door.

[Taliesin]

Down the trap door, the constant whirring of electronics and equipment could be heard, as nearly every spare corner had SOME kind of machine going full-throttle--most of it much newer than anything any of the people had seen before, though clearly it wasn't all in the greatest shape. Hallways and tunnels branched off in a number of directions.

"Welcome to the X-Caves, I suppose."

[Rick Ferguson]

"I don't know about our Acolyte friends, but I'd prefer to get inside sooner rather than later," John said as he entered the trap door.

"Let them find their own damn safehouse," Rick muttered as he walked by John.

"Well, it's better than I imagined it being."

[Robin Stanton]

"Just don't touch anything." Robin says, swiftly checking some of the machines and equipment they pass.

[Will Stanton]

"This is amazing," Will said, scrolling through one of the displays.

"Eh?" he said, as one of the buttons he pressed caused a panel to pop open.

[Veronica Freud]

Veronica bit her bottom lip, trying to keep her arms against her chest as her fingers flexed.

"...science...."

[Robin Stanton]

The panel is stuffed with spare technical gizmos and what-not. One of them looking like a broken off handle that could seem familiar to some people.

Robin, having already passed that particular panel doesn't immediately notice Will messing around with the display/panel.

[Sara Stanton]

"Will!" Sara whispers a bit forcefully.

[Will Stanton]

"Is Professor Weaver here, then?" he asked, picking up the staff thing.

[Aiden Mitchell]

Aiden stepped into the tunnel, and examined the hallway. He looked at least somewhat impressed with the amount of tech that was on display.

"Nice set up they have here," Aiden mused.

[Robin Stanton]

"Hey, put that down. That's mine!" Robin says after noticing Will rummaging through the panel.

[Taliesin]

Talesean rubbed his temples, and headed back towards one of the hallways. "Living quarters are through here, you'll be set up with something temporary."

[Will Stanton]

"Sorry! Sorry!" Will said. "It just....this is Ms. Weaver's staff, right?"

[Skeiron]

"What's all this goddamn commotion?," came a voice from another part of the cave. A man who was only in his late 30's but somehow looked a decade or so older than that approached them. He had messy blond hair, falling into his somehow familiar grey eyes. He was about six feet tall, maybe a little more, but walked with a slump. A grey canvas duster covered him down to his knees which exposed his jeans and black combat boots, all well-worn

[Robin Stanton]

"I don't know what you're talking about. I found it in one of the abandoned safe-houses."

[Will Stanton]

"...Rick?" Will said, still holding Nailah's staff.

[Skeiron]

"...Will?" He looked from Will to Taliesin and back. "They're not talkin' shit about that absinthe. Damn."

[Taliesin]

"I wish. Then they'd be gone when we woke up."

[Rick Ferguson]

Rick stopped where he stood, eyes wide. "My God..."
