Power: Veronica has scale shape-shifting abilities, most strongly manifested in being able to increase her size rapidly. When asked about her maximum she usually shrugs or pretends that she does not know. However she seldom likes going in excess of 10-12 feet in height as she becomes concerned about harming others. In sizes greater than 50' she risks heart failure and other complications especially when such a size is sustained over a long period of time. While in such a state she has increased strength and resistance to harm, though she is far from indestructible. With training from the institute her strength is now proportionate to her size.

Veronica is also capable of making herself smaller, an ability she does not use as often and as such is not as well skilled in. Her usual minimum is a few inches in height, preferring to stick around the 4-6 inches range if she must be smaller at all. When reduced Veronica retains the strength she has at her normal height, able to wield and manipulate items far larger and heavier than herself as well as being more impervious to harm due to her density. She has been stepped on or kicked at a tiny size and suffered from little more than scuffs and slight bruising but is far from bullet proof. Her strength allows her to cause surprising amounts of damage as it is all focused on a much smaller point, like a pick axe. While she can lift heavy objects she still has trouble with awkwardness of their shape, finding it difficult to balance or lift objects that are unwieldy or have poor gripping surfaces.

Update: After over-extending herself during a trip to the future, Veronica was unable to unlock an additional method of growth with the help of Nina. Instead of expanding all over she "hulks out", her muscles and bones becoming much more dense and powerful. In this form she is a little over six feet tall and has a buff but still feminine physique. Her strength in this form is about the same as if she were 15' to 25' tall depending on how "dense" she becomes, a more useful option in areas where space is an issue such as indoors or close quarters with other heroes.

Personality: Born late in the year Veronica has lived most of her life as the runt of the group or class, even despite her abilities. She can be quite shy and easily embarrassed as well as very childish and silly when the mood strikes her. She is a pacifist, preferring to use her abilities to help and protect others instead of fighting but will not refrain from stomping a few thugs should she get really ticked off. Despite her perceived mousiness she is actually quite confident in herself, which also seems to scale itself to her size as she is much more brash and outspoken at a larger size.

One personality quirk she does have regarding her powers is her desire to hide her identity when using them. If on a mission or given time to prepare Veronica will wear a small eyemask to try and make her more difficult to identify. This is for two main reasons, the first being that when she is 50' tall she attracts a lot of attention and does not want that to affect her everyday life. The second reason is the boost to self-confidence that anonymity brings; self-confidence being a driving force behind her being able to use her powers to such an extent. If her mask is not available she is quite capable of using her powers but will not quip as much and will regress as soon as she can.

Description: Veronica is what many would describe as petite. Standing at 4'10 she casts a very unassuming and easily overlooked profile. Her black hair is cut short and her skin is a little pale for someone who spent her childhood growing up on a farm, though the subtle freckling on her shoulders and face might suggest that there is a reason she isn't more tanned. Her eyes are blue and she does not require prescription glasses. She normally dresses in dark pants with rolled cuffs, tucked in button-up shirt, black or brown suspenders and multiple colours of Converse Chuck Taylors. While she wears other shirts, pants and such they almost always seem to be casual and "vintage", though well cared for. She rarely is seen wearing "new" clothes.

Background: Veronica grew up on a farm in rural northern Ontario with her parents and three siblings. Her powers did not manifested when she was 14 during a game of basketball at her old school when, after being knocked down and mocked by one of the female bullies she soon experienced a surge in size and dunked the ball, knocking the girl onto her back and breaking the board in the process. Despite her mid-air display most of her fellow students didn't actually notice or witness her change, chalking up the bully's claims as trying to save face. Veronica soon left to attend the Xavier Institute for Gifted Youngsters where she attended high school as well as receiving power and team training. She applied to XU her freshman year.

Well I think part of the trade off is that I can't change my look; I can't look like a garbage can or other people, so I think Will is pretty safe. And if we do both go tiny then we can work together as a team!
