Powers:

Simply put, Rima is able to absorb genetic traits. More specifically that means things like wings, claws, biolumenescence, tails, scales but also includes more 'complicated' biological systems like gecko palms, polarization vision, spider-silk glands, etc...
Those things work normally except on a bigger scale but aren't all that jacked up beyond that. (No Spiderman-like shenanigans with spider silk for instance but in that example she could use it to rappel down a building at a decent pace)

There are a couple of drawbacks to it though. For one she needs time to shift the system into her body if it's not already present and she can't support too many at once, especially ones that produce substances like poison or silk since they tap into her body's nutrients. Each system takes her a minute or two to shift into, longer if they're more complicated.
Another twist is that while she physically expresses the characteristics she uses they're all twisted into insect/crustacean-like forms. (Not quite as bad a this but it works as a rough idea how wings, tails, eyes, etc would manifest themselves as: http://mr--jack.deviantart.com/gallery/#ZERG ) Due to that effect her base-line human form is also affected and she sports spikes, mandibles and patches of hardened skin. The tail is a conscious choice though and not necessarily always as spiky either.

The way she acquires new traits is absorbing an animals DNA by literally growing/shifting over and into it and absorbing it which can take a long time depending on the creatures size. (Five minutes to absorb, an hour to be fully integrated for an insect or rat, something the size of a dog would take upwards of 6 hours and probably wouldn't be a pretty sight) Once she has absorbed a trait into her genome she continues to have access to it indefinitely. This mechanism does NOT work on humans or mutants and thus not on other people's X-Genes.

Animals she has acquired traits of so far:
- cat (claws, improved nightvision)
- Turtle (defensive plating)
- Octopus (camouflage, ink, contortion)
- various insects (wings, compound eyes)
- spiders (additional eyes or limbs, silk, mild venom)


Personality:

Despite her appearance Rima is pretty friendly and outgoing and not all that aggressive although she's not beyond defending herself if she has to and she has a pretty low tolerance for humans calling her a freak. Since she is clearly superior to them. Isn't that obvious? Look at how boring they all look. As long as she gets positive attention for the way she looks she's happy and when she doesn't it has to be the other person's fault. She obviously has a bit of an over-inflated ego in that regard but thanks to it she's relatively immune to (and actually enjoys) being called a freak.



Description:

See the link up there except with more regular clothes. Since she has a pretty decent range of metabolisms to chose from she's usually dressed rather lightly and showing off quite a bit of her unusual physique.



Background:

Rima was born and raised in the Republic of Lebanon and while you get somewhat used to living in an unstable region she was pretty glad when her mutation set in and gave her a bit of better status, especially when she figured out the potential for growth in her shifting options. Eventually this gave her the opportunity to make the jump to London and attend Xavier's Institute there, quickly deciding to bolster her financial situation a bit by starting to work at Xzotic. And it's certainly just for the money and not at all because she revels in being 'exotic' and showing it off. Yep, totally.
