A Breath of Fresh Air

"Well, when I first started shifting, and was being all secretive about it, I was looking for maybe some kind of anonymous chat board to talk, y'know, to other mutants or something. I'll just leave it at, 'the internet is full of strange people'."

[Sara Stanton]

"Huh? What's so bad about anonymous chatboards for mutants?"

[Will Stanton]

"Oh, the chatboards are fine, although they didn't help as much as I thought.

The searching for them, however, brings you across some of the more..outlandish backwaters of the internet. The imagination on some people..." Will just shakes his head.

[Sara Stanton]

"Uh, okay...

Anyway, I hope someone finds whoever's responsible for that whole thing."

[Will Stanton]

"Like I said to Cal, he should be the one who finds out. Clear his name and all, y'know? Like in a detective novel or something.

There will be a lynch mob when people find out. One can only hope I mean that, y'know, metaphorically."

[Sara Stanton]

"Maybe that kid... what was his name again? The one that jumped out of my mobile... He'd propably have agood shot at finding out. And maybe no lynch-mob, but I could see a good beating coming up. It'd definately be deserved."

[Will Stanton]

"Mmm. You've got that right. Total invasion of at least three people's privacy. Heck, I might even help.

As for that kid...Fitz? Frankie? Fitz? I think it was Fitz...something. Anyway, I saw him again, actually. He promised not to jump out of any more cell phones without texting first."

[Sara Stanton]

"That's good. He seemed like a nice guy, just utterly confused about... well... people, I guess."

[Will Stanton]

"He said he had a long conversation with...something electronic maybe, I dunno, that helped him calm down a bit. So, maybe the internet's NOT all bad, after all."

[Zachary Flint]

Zachary wandered into the quad. The sheer amount of work the first day provided was exhilarating. So this what college was like? He spent a good amount of time right after the classes finishing up most of his work before taking a much needed break. When he spotted Will and Sara, he approached them.

"Hello you two."

[Sara Stanton]

"Hey Zach." Looking up Sara throws a little wave Zach's way.

[Zachary Flint]

He just tilted his head. "Long day for you too I'm guessing?"

[Will Stanton]

"Long day for all of us, I think."

[Zachary Flint]

"Indeed. I do feel somewhat bad however for the little scandalous e-mail that went out. School's hardly started and there's lots of drama."

He glanced off to the side. "Hm. Should I leave you two alone? I hope I wasn't interrupting."

[Sara Stanton]

"Nah, it's fine. We were just talking and trying to recover from the training."

[Will Stanton]

"Yeah, if we minded being interrupted, we'd be back in my room or something instead of out here on the quad."

[Zachary Flint]

"Point taken." He nodded. "So, are you both in that X-teams minor? What exactly do you do in that class?"

[Sara Stanton]

"Apparently it involves alot of running, learning how to punch things, not get punched yourself and being set on fire. So yeah... fun. I'm actually surprised I can still walk, although tomorrow I propably won't."

[Zachary Flint]

"I'm glad I didn't sign up for that. My power's not really made for all that."
