"We are working with our partners at Xavier's University to quell this threat. Doctor Tomorrow is spreading misinformation along with his despicable assault on innocent civilians. We are doing everything in our power to bring this to a swift conclusion."
While officials in charge of the X-Team program declined comment on ongoing operations, the Xavier's University did issue a statement in support of the British government.
"Our groundbreaking negotiations and collaboration with the local government has born fruit for both human and mutant communities. This model of co-operation is a tempting target for extremists and madmen, and we regret that these slanderous accusations are being used as part of a terrorist ploy. Once the crisis has been averted we expect that a thorough analysis of the destructive devices unleashed upon Lambeth will prove that their true source has no governmental affiliation."
