Packing It In And Packing Up

Amazon landed at her apartment, letting herself in and doing a quick sweep of the rooms before she grabbed a large duffle bag and began slamming her belongings into it, obviously angry.

Having finished grabbing up her stuff, she left the grabbed the cash that Chthonia had paid her for the advance and shoved most of it in the duffle bag, keeping some on her person just in case. Shouldering the bag, she made her way out onto the street, leaving the door to her apartment open to be picked clean by whoever came by. She opted not to fly for a while, just to feel like she was keeping a low profile, though her size made that virtually impossible. As she walked down the streets, she walked seemingly aimlessly, making turns that made very little sense if she were actually trying to go somewhere.

"Nice to see you again." a voice said from an alleyway.

[Amazon]

At the sound of the voice, Amazon turned sharply and floated slightly off the ground, trying to get a good look for where it was coming from in the alleyway.

"Did you really think that you could get away with double crossing us?" Heartbreaker asked, already reaching out towards Amazon's mind.

[Amazon]

"Would it make any difference if I said 'it's just business'?" Amazon's mental defenses go up as she makes a move to close the distance between her and Heartbreaker.

[Heartbreaker]

"Not really." Heartbreaker said, starting to rip through Amazon's mental protection.

[Amazon]

"That's a shame really then. I kind of like redheads," she said closing the distance, raising her fist as if to drill Heartbreaker into the ground, before lashing out with her foot in a roundhouse kick aimed right above Heartbreaker's knee.

[Heartbreaker]

She almost connected. Almost. And then found herself frozen in place, as Heartbreaker made it through her mental defenses.
"How much do you like redheads?" Heartbreaker purred menacingly.

[Amazon]

You in my head now? Good. I'm not double-crossing you, you fool. Do you think Hellsmith would have let me get away if I had? She grinned, trying to remain cocky, "Depends on the red-head. At the moment, I'm not really fond of you."

[Heartbreaker]

"Thats too bad." Heartbreaker purred as she stroked Amazon's cheek, even as she looked mentally to make sure she was telling the truth, before she added Yes, I know. I'm supposed to be your contact.

[Amazon]

"Let me go and I'll see what we can work out to fix that," she said with a smirk, trying to struggle against Heartbreaker's hold on her, or at least give the appearance that that was what she was doing. I'm glad to see I at least have someone to contact.

[Heartbreaker]

"I"m open to suggestions." Heartbreaker replied You're too valuable to leave unsupported.

[Amazon]

"I've got 10 grand and a kiss I could see fit to part with," she said with a cocky tone. So how do I get a hold of you if I need something?

[Heartbreaker]

"Make it two kisses and you've got a deal" Heartbreaker smirked Go to the Red Dragon in China town, and order Crispy Chicken.

[Amazon]

"See, I knew you could be reasonable," Amazon grinned, "Mind letting me down so I can get the money?" Got it.

[Heartbreaker]

"OK" Heartbreaker said, letting her go.

[Amazon]

Amazon took a moment to get the feeling in her limbs back before digging into her bag for the money and handing it over to Heartbreaker. "I'll wait while you count it if you want."

[Heartbreaker]

"Nah, I think you're smart enough not to lie." Heartbreaker said, "Now, shall we seal the deal?"

[Amazon]

"Sure thing," Amazon said, picking Heartbreaker up as if she weighed nothing and planting a kiss right on her lips.

[Heartbreaker]

Heartbreaker returned the kiss eagerly.

[Amazon]

After a minute, Amazon set her down, "You know if we weren't on opposite sides in this, I might could get use to that." She grinned and Heartbreaker got the distinct impression that at least the last part wasn't an act.

[Heartbreaker]

"Yeah, I'll see you around." Heartbreaker said with a snort.

[Amazon]

Amazon chuckled and walked off, taking a good look around before heading off down the streets again, working her way out of the city.
