Hellsmith was performing a thorough sweep of the security cameras and sensors in the aftermath of the break-in.
As such, a certain cat could likely see what was coming.
Then again, with the otherworldly energies saturating her current location, it was entirely possible Atropha couldn't.
Regardless, it was coming, and soon the sensor sweep would reach that fateful room.

Even if she would have seen it coming there's not much she could do about it with the lab still on lockdown from the alarm. Though the distortions from the experiments muddle everything she is still vaguely aware of the fact that something is about to happen, so she at least stops snooping around the computer terminals.

"Well then," the voice came over the speaker in the lab, "what have we here?"

"Would you believe I was trying to help catch that shapeshifter?" she asks almost coyly, obviously not even believing for a second that anyone is going to buy that excuse.

"Ah, that entirely depends on how you answer the next question."
"You see, for some odd reason I don't have any record of the little bastard on my cameras, until the exact moment you pulled the alarm."
"But you wouldn't know anything about that, would you?"

"I'm naturally sneaky?" she offers. "I saw him, talked to him and quickly figured out he didn't belong. So I raised the alarm."

"Darling, a mouse could fart in this building and I'd know."
"Pull the other one. It's got bells on."

"Really now. Yet somehow you missed to spot him or me?"

"And imagine my surprise when I find you here of all places. Why, I rather think that the only person who likes surprises less than me is you."

"Is that truly baffling? I mean honestly." she smiles.

Down the hall, a women in a purple bathrobe was walking.
"What on Earth is all this commotion, anyway?"

"Well then, I rather hope you enjoy this one..."
Abruptly, the room came back out of lockdown as clamps slid away and the doors lurched open...
...giving Harbinger a clear view of Atropha in the lab.

And Atropha gave her the most innocent, slightly crooked smile she could muster.

"I just tried to help catch the little shifter. Then the hallways started moving around."

"I chased him into a group of people. I figured I would try to cut him off from where he would be going, but then the hallways shifted around."

"I think you'd know as well as I do, Harbinger, nothing was shifted on this level of the building. After all, too many... precious assets reside here, eh?"

"Well then, I'm sure our good friends here in the research section will back up your story, won't they?"
The camera in the room focused pointedly on the scientists.

"Well when I came in here the alarm locked the door behind me, so I figured I might as well make sure everything was alright in here." she butts in before one of the scientists says something.

"I daresay she's been quite helpful in raising the alarm against the little twisty bastard. Perhaps we ought to clue her in to what the General has had cooking here."
"After all, I seem to remember that not even Croyden seemed all that eager when the General started talking of... test subjects."
