Meeting Adjourned

[Cyclone]

Cyclone walked out of a general command meeting, following Harbinger on the way out without in being obvious that that was his intent.

"So, what do you think about the shift in monetary resources?," he asked conversationally.

[Harbinger]

"It matters very little, though it is certainly not a step back," she said, conversationally.

[Cyclone]

"I agree. It will be interesting to see how this...inter-dimensional business turns out."

[Harbinger]

"I just hope the General knows what he's doing."

[Cyclone]

"He knows," Rick replied, with utmost certainty. It was odd for him at this point to hear anyone really express doubts about him. "Meanwhile, I get to help with breaking in some of the new recruits tomorrow. Joy."

[Harbinger]

"Break a leg. And then send them in for repair," she smirked.

[Cyclone]

"Don't tempt me with the idea." He pressed an elevator button for both of them and stood there, waiting. "Speaking of which, there's this new woman. An informant."

[Harbinger]

"There is indeed."

[Cyclone]

He nodded. "She came in during my night watch command, I had to give her the initial 'OK' to stay at base."

[Harbinger]

"She's already proved her value. You've done the right thing.

Though she's taking up poking at Order as a sport."

[Cyclone]

"He's good at keeping in line. I'm sure she's figured that out." He smiled faintly. "Still, it might be a good idea to reserve judgment on her."

[Harbinger]

"In what sense?"

[Cyclone]

"Well, she's proven helpful enough so far, I'll give her that. But she still hasn't been here long, and...well, she wasn't entirely truthful with me when it came to getting in."

[Harbinger]

"She's wise, then."

[Cyclone]

"Mmm, wise. And sly." The elevator door opened for them.

[Harbinger]

"You have a problem with sly?"

[Cyclone]

"When she's slick enough to try to keep us all wrapped around her little finger, no, I don't care for it."

[Harbinger]

"All of us?"

[Cyclone]

"Yes," he replied, looking at her pointedly. "All of us." He pushed the button for his floor.

[Harbinger]

"Surely, you jest."

[Cyclone]

"Don't take me lightly in this, Harbinger."

[Harbinger]

"And why not?"

[Cyclone]

"Between you and me, I'm pretty sure that she's...cheating the system."

[Harbinger]

"You don't think I can handle myself."

[Cyclone]

Cyclone just smiled to himself. The elevator door opened to his floor. "I never said that. But remember what I did say." He walked out into the hall and left on that note.
