Dec 26 - Donk Donk

[John Hino]

With a whirring hum, the trio appeared right in front of the Seattle police department.

[Mizuki Hino]

"That was weird..." Mizuki mumbles, glancing around the street that has replaced the Quad all of a sudden.

[Calvin Strong]

Cal looked up at the police station, then down at his guns. "Y'know... I probably ought to wait out here," he admitted.

[John Hino]

"We may be a while."

[Calvin Strong]

"I'll have the internet keep me company," Cal said dryly. "If I hear gunfire, I'll come running."

[John Hino]

"Well I don't plan on starting anything. Do you sis?"

[Mizuki Hino]

"Why would I do anything in a police station?"

[John Hino]

"Exactly."

He sighed, "Let's go." He headed to the door.

About an hour and a half later they came back out. John appeared understandably rattled.

[Mizuki Hino]

Mizuki's following a few steps behind John, looking at the ground and absentmindedly playing with the zipper on her jacket.

[Calvin Strong]

Cal absently looked around, occupying himself with sending off e-mails and such in his mind while he waited.

[John Hino]

"From what they've gathered so far, it seems Dad was doing some snooping into something," he explains to Cal.

[Calvin Strong]

"Snooping into something... like what?"

[John Hino]

"Nichols thinks the answer is in dad's office computer, but he can't get a warrant."

[Calvin Strong]

"Well, fortunately with vigilante justice, you don't need a warrant." He smirked over at John. "Say, John, do you think your father had any personal effects at his office you might need to pick up?"

[John Hino]

"As a matter of fact there is. A pity noone's going to be in there to help us for an hour or so," he smirked.

[Calvin Strong]

"Address, please?" Cal said, smirking.

[John Hino]

John gave him the address and the floor.

"Try the roof across from it on the west first so you can get a precise target for the room."

[Calvin Strong]

"Already on it. Away we go," Cal said, as they disappeared again.

[John Hino]

A couple of jumps later they are in Mr. Hino's formerly swank office. Blood evidence is still present, as is crime scene investigation periphenalia.

"Try not to touch anything we don't need to."

[Calvin Strong]

"I'll do you one better," Cal said. "I don't need to touch anything." He extended a port from his arm that he plugged into the computer. "Five minutes," he added to the waiting siblings. "I'd use the office next door, but I want to make sure there's nothing in the personal files we need."

[Mizuki Hino]

Looking around the room Mizuki winces at the bloodstain and turns around, beginning to question why she even came along.

[John Hino]

John gave Mizuki a gentle squeeze to reassure her.

The search of the hard drive turned up the logical things one might find on a high-ranking executive's office computer. The exception however, is a heavily encrypted folder with a 20-character authentication code required. Clearly Mr. Hino didn't want anyone he didn't trust to see what was inside.

[Calvin Strong]

"Huh... nice encryption here," Cal said when that folder came up. "Thing we might have hit paydirt here. I'm grabbing the lot of it, we'll worry about getting it readable when we're home."

He did a quick run-through of the building's network, installing a backdoor onto the server so that he could get back in later if he had to.

[John Hino]

"Good. Let's just... get out of here. Being here is... is too much too soon," he sighed.

[Calvin Strong]

"Got it. I'm almost... there," he said yanking the cord out and stepping back, beaming them right back out, back to the school.
