Bear had been exploring, as she loved doing whenever she got a chance to return to Avengers Mansion.

She was looking at a fairly small, unnoticeable painting tucked into the corner of the hallway before hearing the heated conversation coming from the next room.

Sighing, she debated joining Rachel in defending Ryan against his mother.

At that, Jennifer spun around, advancing furiously on Rachel. "All right, we're going to get one thing straight right now," she snapped. "I am his mother, and I've raised him from the day he was born. I don't need one of his groupies criticizing how I'm doing it. That boy has great things in store for him, and I'll be damned if I don't do everything in my power to prepare him for it. And you can rail at me, and he can throw tantrums, all that you goddamn want, but in the end, when he finds himself equal to everything that gets thrown at him, when he can protect both of you and whatever family you have, you will thank me!"
