"Gotcha." she says, snatching up the piece of paper and glancing it over. No way am I going to miss it if she puts those two to the test though.

"All right, you're with me, then. We'll be going over the basics." She looked at their sheets as she led them back to the first aid training area. "Lord Cassiel put notes in that both of you have a lot of potential as rescue personnel... Fracture, you're unaffected by fire or general wear and tear?"

"It's Ria, if you don't mind. Though if it's some kind of rule that we need to use mutant names, that's fine."

"That second part isn't entirely true, but I am extremely durable. As far as heat goes, I can actually endure low-end lava in theory, though I have never wanted to test that out."

"I have all the durability of a solid piece of beryl, but a strong enough percussive force will still shatter parts of me. I don't need oxygen though, so I'd be a good choice for rescues in smoky areas, or in case of some kind of toxic gas."

"Mutant names or surnames is the general tradition... we don't need to, though, if that's what you want to go by. Regardless, you're going to be getting a heavy dose of search and rescue training, because A, you're perfect for it, and B, we have a lot of demand for it."

"Excellent," she said as they made their way into the next room. "All right... this is how your schedules work whenever you have time for a full workout, otherwise it'll get broken down between days. An hour of first aid, an hour of applied power training, and an hour of exercise."

"Oh, you're going to be learning to hate obstacle courses," Ferra answered. "You can't get much stronger, so we're going to get your reflexes razor sharp. Now... shall we get started?"

Even with people who had no first aid training, Ferra was a very competent instructor. She was, from her age and her constant checking their files, obviously low on the totem pole and probably new as well, but she obviously knew her stuff in this category. By the end of the first hour, while Crossfire was off doing her weight training, she'd gotten through the beginner information with the two of them. "If you need to go over anything we've covered, the information's all in an online resource that your accounts have access to now."

"Good. From the notes Cassiel has on here, it says you might not be interested in going very far beyond the basic self-defense, but it wasn't being ruled out." Ferra shrugged, making a note. "It's really up to you, I guess. So... Fracture, looks like you're up next to go through the grinder. Are you ready?"

"Alright." Ria shucks off the tank top and shorts, walks out into a clear space. "I'm going to try not to hurt you, but it's been a long time since I sparred with anyone, I don't know if my control is all that great anymore."

"Oh, don't worry about hurting me," Ferra said, chuckling as they headed back to the room she'd fought Crossfire in. "I'm not a delicate little flower. If you hurt me, I deserve it."

Ria shrugs. "Alright. I'm not saying I think I'll win the fight, but if I do land a punch... I can hurt organics pretty badly."

She settles into a fairly competent looking judo stance. Not instructor level or anything like that, but she's spent a couple of years on it.

Ferra stood two paces into the doorway, and about ten paces from Ria. She held her arm out, and as if called, began pulling all of the iron in the immediate area to her, just like she'd done when fighting Crossfire... only on a bit of a larger scale. Then, clanging a bit with each step, she rushed toward Ria.

Ria awaits the charge, and feints a punch as Ferros gets close. What she really attempts is a classic judo throw. With a heavy enemy charging in, it's pretty much the perfect situation for it.

Ferra keeps coming and doesn't even seem to think of doing anything to prevent being thrown.

Ria grabs Ferros and heaves, not with her full strength, but powerfully, enough to throw a metal-covered human a good twenty feet in the air, and an equal distance along the path she'd been charging down.

As she grabs onto Ferra, though, she'd find the metal skin fairly fluid, allowing her hands to sink in, but not withdraw. If she was going to be thrown that far, Ria was evidently intended to come with her.

Ria can't actually throw herself like that, so instead she just continues with the motion, going over backwards and swinging Ferros around in a tight arc to slam hard against the ground. Ria hits the ground pretty hard too, but it doesn't bother her much.

As Ferra started to swing toward the ground, the iron lengthened around Ria's hand, stretching and flowing away from Ferra, who landed hard in a three-point crouch. "Not bad," she panted, winded from the landing. She made a gesture with her hand, and another flow of iron shot out from a nearby pile of construction struts at Ria while she was down.

Ria yanks on the iron with force that Ferros is probably unprepared for. She attempts to rip out of it and roll to her feet, putting strength behind it sufficient to toss a motorcycle through the air.

What Ria probably wasn't prepared for was that there was absolutely no resistance as she did it. It was like pulling a glob of silly putty, giving no resistance as it stretched itself thin enough to just break free.

Ria stumbles away lifting into the air at one point, then stops her unsteady momentum by delivering a powerful kick to a nearby pillar for one of the building overhangs. The concrete around the base of the pillar shatters, throwing shards a good distance.

Ria looks over at Ferros, and mimes taking a deep breath to calm herself, though of course she doesn't have lungs. "Well, I guess now you know how good I am. Not nearly as good as you."

She drops into a more relaxed posture.

"Maybe, but you don't want to actually hurt me, either. That can make a lot of difference," Ferra said, standing up and letting the iron drop into a solid puddle on the floor.
