Name: Nina “Trauma Pack” Madaraki

Age: 19

Power: Nina has the ability to produce “probes” organic creatures of varying sizes that look a bit like very odd looking spiders. They’re capable of attaching themselves to living organisms and relaying information about the body they’ve attached themselves to back to her through a telepathic link.

Besides this ability, Nina can produce special “doctor probes” with specialized abilities towards guaranteeing the health of individuals by operating on traumatized areas, producing some general drugs, sealing wounds and such. Their abilities are very generally focused, usually towards healing common injuries or alleviating common symptoms.

The “doctor probes” can be altered for more specific types of ailments or injuries, but this takes time and preparation from Nina.

Personality: A bit of an oddball, Nina is generally enthusiastic, cheerful, and just a tad spacey.

Description: Nina is of an average height and a slim build. She has shoulder length blonde hair, blue eyes, and pale skin. She usually dresses in modest, professional fashions although her forgetful nature leads to her hair always looking slightly unkempt.

Background: Nina was born “Nina McDougal” to a single mother in New Jersey. However, her mother wasn’t exactly the most responsible woman and after multiple drug convictions, Nina was turned over to the care of the state. It wasn’t long before the Madaraki’s adopted her.

Nina was a bright girl showing early signs of great academic skill. Her adoptive parents lovingly fostered her scientific curiosity and she excelled in her studies.

When her abilities manifested, she kept them a secret, becoming slightly obsessed with the information she could gather using the probes. Her grades began to decline as she became more interested on experimenting using her abilities.

Her parents worried about her but chalked it up to a slight trend towards rebellion and assured themselves she would be fine. Meanwhile, Nina’s experiments went undiscovered until she was a junior in high school.

A recruiter from the Institute came to her school. It didn’t take them long to discover her abilities and what she’d been doing. Although she was resistant at first, the offer to learn more about what she could do and learn in one of the most advanced schools on the planet tempted Nina into joining up with the Institute.

At the Institute, Nina threw herself into her studies quickly becoming accepted into some of the advanced science programs at the Institute. She took a job volunteering in the infirmary and has shown a natural aptitude for medicine along with the edge her abilities give her. She also performed admirably in several emergency situations, helping provide care to students who found themselves hurt on the front lines.

Despite this, Nina has somewhat of a reputation for an odd personality. She often says extremely odd things and can be a bit too enthusiastic about pursuing her scientific inquiries. Plus some people find being covered in spider-like creatures as she attempts to heal their injuries downright creepy.

What kind of information do you see the probes being able to relay?

Is there a limit to how much biomass she can safely shunt off into the probes?

Vital signs, location of wounds, and basic medical information along those lines. They basically act as diagnostic equipment.

There is a limit to the amount of probes she can safely make. I have no idea where to put that number, but it'd be fairly reasonable. She can't have hundreds of the suckers crawling around but she can treat more then one person at a time.

Is there any danger to reabsorbing a probe that's been in contact with something hazardous? What happens if a probe "dies"?

There is some amount of psychic feedback from killing a probe. Just one would be like stubbing your toe, but the more that get killed the more danger she's in of getting seriously hurt.

Reabsorbing a probe that's come into contact with something that wasn't neutralized by the probe would basically be exposing herself to whatever that is. Usually she knows if a probe has come into contact with something dangerous though, but I can imagine an odd exception happening.

Looks good to me. Good concept and plenty of room for expansion in the future.
