Name: Calvin ‘Cyber’ Strong
Age: 18
Power: Cybernetics – Calvin has cybernetic implants enhancing and replacing parts of his nervous system, eyes, and brain, following damage that was done to them. They allow for enhanced sensor functions, enhanced reflexes and preprogrammed or calculated movements, and computer interface via data ports or wireless signals. He has a crude AI in his cybernetics that he can get tactical or computational data from, or have run queries on available computer systems. When knocked unconscious, the AI is able to function as a backup to get him out of danger, keeping him “awake” until his consciousness reasserts itself.

Electrical discharge – Calvin’s mutant power is to produce electrical bolts, which are regulated by his cybernetics to prevent them from doing further damage to his nervous system.

Personality: Calvin is fairly easygoing, but can seem a bit strange at times, as he communicates with his AI. Nevertheless, he’s more or less just an average guy who’s had some… bad luck. He still tends to be upbeat about most things.

Description: 5’8”, average build, with black hair and unnatural green eyes. His eyes can be noticed to be mechanically focusing on things if one looks close enough. He has a single data port hidden under his left wrist.

Background: Calvin’s mutation surfaced when he was fourteen. He was sent to a lab, and submitted to voluntary experiments on mutation and the function of energy powers. One of the experiments was supposed to unlock Calvin’s underdeveloped power to its ‘full potential.’

Unfortunately, his power at its full potential proved to be destructive to his nervous system, leaving him with severe nerve damage, unable to move or speak coherently. Faced with an impending lawsuit from his parents, the company elected to offer an experimental cybernetic procedure to compensate for the damage that was done, and to help regulate his powers and shield him from them.

The procedure bankrupted the company, but the scientists didn’t care, since they were keeping the patents for the cybernetic procedures they were using. As such, they did splurge a little bit, adding experimental systems (such as his wireless capability), and replacing his eyes so that the extra sensory suites they installed could interface with his vision.

He was allowed to leave, free of any contract with the company to avoid further lawsuits from his family. He attended the Academy of Tomorrow during High School, and then decided to attend the new Xavier campus in London for college.

What kind of strength do the electrical bolts have?

And what sort of enhanced sensors? Broad band EMR? More? less?

Man, we've already got one useless robot. :P

I'm trying to figure out how to gauge the lightning to give an estimation of his power. I'm open to suggestions.

In the meantime, sensor suites: He can see full-spectrum light (UV and IR included). He can do thermal imaging and night vision. He can also sense energy frequencies, which would show up in his vision as a little text warning, unless there was any way for his AI to translate it into a visual signal. A sampling system hooked to his respiratory system can analyze the air, warning him of anything out of the norm from breathable air.

Well, how far can the bolts shoot? Can they electrocute a Hampster? A dog? A human? A rhinoceros? A T-Rex?

ok, I have no idea how much power it would take to kill a rhino, but no, he can't. I'd say he could probably kill a human, although I don't really plan on having him do that. Distance, I'd cut off at about ten yards, enough to zap something across a decent-sized room.

How would this manifest in a typical social scene?

Mostly that would manifest as being suddenly distracted, or having blank looks. There's also a good chance of him coming up with answers that his AI computes or searches for him and not understanding them at all, since he was just 'given' the answer to whatever question was posed.
