I10: A feast fit for a great old one

[Oka Aina]

Oka looked a little surprised at John saying he had a girlfriend.

"A gir-" Oka said, "I miss it. Warm, sunny, beaches....I mean this place is nice to, but it's not the same."

[John Hino]

"You want to see what she looks like?"

[Oka Aina]

Oka looked a little unsure of how to respond.

"Uh...sure," Oka said.

[John Hino]

He fished out his wallet and pulled out a photo of him and Kaylee together.

[Oka Aina]

It was highly unlikely that Oka could look any more surprised than he did at that moment.

"She's beautiful," Oka said, "Y-you're very lucky."

[John Hino]

"I really am," he smiled warmly.

[Oka Aina]

Oka looked visibly uncomfortable and tried to cover it by eating.

[John Hino]

Aaaand you made him feel worse...

"I'm sorry," he apologized sympathetically, "I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable..."

[Oka Aina]

"It's... n-not hard to do," Oka said.

[John Hino]

"Perhaps a less personal subject then?"

[Oka Aina]

"Like what? Movies, sports, video games..." Oka said.

[John Hino]

"You could ask about London or the X-Men, for instance."

[Oka Aina]

"I would've guessed you'd be tired to people asking you about those things by now," Oka said, "Most of the kids here want to be X-Men."

[John Hino]

"I'm not tired of it just yet," he chuckled lightly.

[Oka Aina]

"I guess that's a good thing," Oka said, "Be hard if you didn't like the limelight...at least a little bit."

[John Hino]

"I figure I should get used to having people's attention, wanted or otherwise, if I'm going to try and start a business after college."

[Oka Aina]

"I guess," Oka said, "It's...well no I guess it isn't free publicity."

[John Hino]

"Well I'm not aiming for the spotlight," he said, "I don't plan on being Lizard Tony Stark."

[Oka Aina]

"Why not?" Oka asked as he grabbed various food items with his tentacles.

[John Hino]

"Just a bit too flamboyant for me is all."

[Oka Aina]

"So you just don't want to be outrageously famous," Oka said with a ghost of a smile.

[John Hino]

"Oh it's not that exactly," he smirked, "More I'd rather have an actual relationship with someone than just hit on anyone with two X chromosomes."

[Oka Aina]

"There's also the alcoholism," Oka pointed out.

[John Hino]

"Which would be a bad mix with superhuman strength."

[Oka Aina]

"Must make college different than it is in the movies," Oka said.

[John Hino]

"Yeah," he chuckled, "If XU were a party school London would never recover."

[Oka Aina]

"No, probably not," Oka chuckled softly.

[John Hino]

"The campus needs enough emergency maintenance as it is."
