Sept 27 - Team 5 - Warehouse assault

[Narrator]

As the team fought, they would notice that the vampires they were fighting, and their few guard animals seemed to be without backup or reinforcements, nor did they attempt to call in any help.

When, after some truly epic battling, of the sort that would shatter the mortal mind if it were related here, Team 5 was victorious. They would have the chance to look around and take a look at the warehouse.
Once they did so, they would notice that, except for the explosives, and a van that was being repaired, it was........

Empty.

Totally, completely, utterly.

Empty.

[Veronica Freud]

Alice brushed some of the drywall dust off of her legs, standing about as tall as the warehouse roof would allow her. She knelt down a bit, looking a little disappointed by the findings.

"This really, really don't feel right. Somethin's wrong. I think we should check in with Ms. Lee."

[Kelly St Luc]

" We still need to get these people to safety and disable these bombs. I can not because of my figners are not agile enough," he said over the radio after delivering a finishing blow to the last vampire with his claws. Sweaty but still with energy Kelly looked for a key to unlock the prisoners.

He said quietly over the radio, "We should check out that these prisoners aren't some sort of trap either."

Kelly flashed a smile towards Kevin for the victory but kept his eyes focused for any threat. His mind was still thinking heavily on the explosives and getting the prisoners out on time.

[Kevin Gravis]

"Unfortunately disarming bombs is not in my skillset, I do have nimble fingers though. As for the prisoners, I could cut them free easy."

[Narrator]

"Osprey, this is Network." a woman's voice said over the line.

[Kelly St Luc]

"Network, this is Osprey," he said waiting for instructions form the great voice in his ear.

[Narrator]

Are the prisoners safe where they are, and are the bombs going to go off soon?

[Kelly St Luc]

"Working on that. We're about to get the prisoners out of here but the bomb situation is unknown to me." He stopped talking to the Network and went to his team mates, "Guys how are we doing on these bombs?"

[Zero]

"What's wrong with leaving them here and bailing?" Zero asks, looking slightly annoyed.

[Veronica Freud]

"We don't know how powerful they are" Veronica said in a soft, to her, voice. "If they explode they might not just take this place but catch a bunch of other places nearby on fire."

[Zero]

"So?" Zero says, "None of us are trained to deal with explosives. Call a bomb squad and let's go home."

Zero began walking for the door.

[Kevin Gravis]

Kevin checked all the cages for traps. If clear, he'd cut them open and get the hostages out.

[Narrator]

As soon as all of the bars were cut, the two hostages who were in the cage stood "Well, well, Delilah, it looks like we've been rescued."

"Why yes, Sapphira, it looks like we have." her companion said, standing and approaching Kevin.

[Kevin Gravis]

Kevin backed up a little.

"Since when do hostages talk like that? Oh, did I say that out loud?"

Weird names too...

[Narrator]

"We're just, so, so greatful." Delilah said with a smirk, as she and Sapphira closed the distance between themselves and Kevin.

[Kevin Gravis]

"And villainous smirking that I'm not supposed to notice? Really? Geez you bloodsuckers are bad actresses."

He kept his blades at the ready.

[Kelly St Luc]

Kelly was rapidly searching for a key to unleash some of the other prioners. He paused and nervously watched what was happening to Kevin. He said to Kevin, "Lionheart, they remind me of a suck you somethings buses...I'd back away."

Kelly stopped and prepared for a fight just incase. Hoping the the other members of his team could stop those bombs.

[Narrator]

"He's smart." Sapphira said "I hate that." then, she dove at his throat.

[Kevin Gravis]

Kevin hopped back to avoid and brought one floating light sword up at her chin, the other across her chest if it missed. His next move would be to take out the other incoming vampire with an extension of his previous attack.

[Veronica Freud]

"And y'all are about as sharp as a sack of wet mice" Alice boomed above the pair.

As Sapphira dove toward Kevin she raised her foot high and tried to stomp on the other girl. At almost 40', about as much as the warehouse roof would allow before she would start pressing against it, her foot was about two feet wide and over five feet in length, the girls appearing a little less than 8" in height to her. She wasn't trying to use all of her weight of course, she didn't want to squish the girl, just stop or incapacitate her.

[Narrator]

In this case, Veronica didn't know her own strength and squashed the vampire messily, as Kevin killed the other. As the two vampires died, the apparent explosives melted into a pile of nasty looking, gelatinous purple goo.

[Kelly St Luc]

"Gross," Kelly shook his head in disgust at the goo. "Alright guys. I think we're good to go! Let's get moving." He wasn't trying to be demanding he just was glad to leave this warehouse. Since the team had already checked this place out and found it was safe Kelly exited back towards the chopper.

[Veronica Freud]

Veronica covered her mouth and eeped, stepping backward as she dwindled down.

"I-I didn't mean to..." She stammered, looking like she was going to burst out crying at any moment. She bit her lip and stiffened up, after all they still had work to do.

On her way out she noticed the goo where the bombs had been. She paused just long enough to scavenge an old coffee can from the debris of her earlier fun and scooped some of the stuff into it. It never hurt to bring a little something back for the boys in the lab to take a look at. Once she had it she trotted back out to the chopper with the rest of them.

[Zero]

Zero was waiting for the rest of the team outside the warehouse, looking a bit impatient.

[Kevin Gravis]

Kevin joined the rest at the helicopter.

"Clearly they knew we were coming."

[Veronica Freud]

"Then why not make it more of a trap? Set the whole place to explode after we got inside. This don't smell right at all. What'd the school say when you radio'd it in?"

[Kevin Gravis]

"That'd be the leader's job."

[Kelly St Luc]

Kelly remained quiet, turned his head, and blinked at Zero.

I feel like there might be a power struggle going on. Eh, but I'm just stupid.

[Zero]

"Who said anything about being the leader," Zero says with a shrug, "I just helped you idiots come up with a plan."

[Veronica Freud]

"Ugh, I can't believe you two butt-babies are still actin' like this." Veronica pressed two fingers to the right corner of her mask closest to her ear. "Ecks Yuu" she said, stressing out the letters into sounds. "- this is Alice with team 5. Location has been secured and all hostiles neutralized. Any word from the other teams? Over."

She shook her head and looked a little disappointed in Kevin and Zero.

[Narrator]

Team 4 just got back here. When you get back, you'll be dropped by Sydney. The warehouses were all decoys, maybe the other sites too. Right now, there is a full scale assault on the school. Network responded, sounding a bit distracted.

[Kelly St Luc]

Kelly groaned at the news and then sweared something in French at the situation and remained silent on the trip back to the school.

[Veronica Freud]

Veronica gritted here teeth and pulled herself into the helicopter. "Wilco. Departing now." She was not a happy girl.
