XUB 2 - Do they have milk at the bar?

After taking Misty on the grand tour, Ryan led her down into the XUB. "Don't know about you, but I'm starved. Food break, my treat," he said, making a mental note that Misty actually getting alcohol might very well qualify as a Very Bad Idea.

Will was scritching out some notes on a pad of paper, nursing a screwdriver at a table.

Misty nodded.

"Lunch an' dinner rolled into one!" she said as they went in. "Ryan should know Misty is verrry hungry!"

The scents of food were the first things that caught her attention and her tail swished around eagerly.

"Lots of meat for Misty, then," Ryan chuckled, getting them a seat. He snagged a menu for her on the way, not needing one himself, and waved at Will.

Misty looked over the menu with intense concentration, eyes narrowing and widening by turn as she found more and more interesting things. Finally she selected out two different sandwiches (turkey and chicken) and added a small burger with an extra large milk.

"Misty stays away from 'spresso now," she said.

Ryan rolled his eyes, deciding not to dignify Will's insinuations with a reply. "Will, Kat, this is Misty," he said. "Misty, that's Will, and that's Kat."

"Misty is Misty," she announced to the pair. "Misty is girl, and Misty is friend, so okay. Will and Kat," she repeated, nodding. "Misty is happy to meet you. Misty wants to be girl friend to everyone."

The last was spoken a little awkwardly as she worked to enunciate properly around her muzzle.

"Nice to meet Will too," she said. She suddenly leaned towards him and sniffed the air, then repeated the action for Kat.

"Kat smell like fun girl," she announced. "Lots of moving and running. Will smells like home and comfy stuff...an' somet'ing else," she added, looking a little perplexed. "Diff'rent."

"Tink?" Misty said, perking up. "As Tinkerbell?" Her eyes were huge with fresh excitement.

"Just don't compare her to her Disney version." she laughs. "She packs a mean punch for a 3 inch girl."

"And there's lots of people, some more fun than others. You're propably gonna love Bear." It takes a few seconds for Kat to mentally connect things together. "Oh wait... you propably know her already, yes?"

Misty made a happy sound somewhere between a trill and a purr.

"Misty wants to meet ev'ybody..." she said. She was interrupted by a long, jaw-cracking yawn. "Sorry," she said. "Long trip."

(Aaaand real bed for me...)

"Well if you want to meet everybody you have a lot of going down the dorms and knocking on every door ahead of you." she laughs. "Or climb a tree in the quad and let people flock around you, for a more lazy approach."

"Hmmm," Misty said seriously. "Better at climbing and watching. Lots to see always. Catch scents easier too."

She smiled a big, mischevious, toothy smile.

"And good for catching fairies an' birds an' lots of other stuff."

"Misty likes...eating," she said. "And having fun, and stuffed animals, and making friends. And pr'tecting friends. Sometimes Misty has to do that too."

"Some guy was turning people into vampire knock-offs with science... stuff. A few students were attacked infrequently and eventually they attacked the campus right after we were send out to take out their headquarters."

Misty took a hungry bite out of her chicken sandwich. She held up a "one moment" finger, then swallowed.

"Numbers," Misty said. "Misty reeeally good with numbers. Sort of."

Now Misty looked a bit abashed.

"Anyt'ing," she said. "But...Misty not control it. Just happens. Solve big problem in head, then get stuck in al...al-ge-bra."

She made a frustrated face.

"Misty knows not smart," she said. "Makes school maths harder. But head math just happens when Misty not 'xpect. Hard to 'splain, hard to say."

(And bed again.)
