Sept 27 and on - Room 229 (Rachel, Nina)

[Ryan Gabriel]

Ryan and Rachel had been discharged. Still sort of shakey, they'd sort of leaned on each other the whole way back to their rooms.

"God, that's the longest walk across campus I've ever had," Ryan sighed as they approached their doors.

[Rachel O'Brien]

"Yeah, I know what you mean." Rachel replied, walking just as slowly "I'm going to follow doctors orders and make friends with a couple of vicodin and go to bed."

[Ryan Gabriel]

Ryan nodded. "Yeah, same here," he grunted. He stood still while she got her keys out so that she could keep leaning on him. "You... going to need any help?" he offered. Just because he wanted to help. Totally.

[Rachel O'Brien]

"I think I'll be ok." Rachel said as she unlocked the door. "But you can spend the night. If you want. I mean, you probably shouldn't be alone, with how you got knocked around." she added, because she concerned for his welfare. And definately not because she wanted him to stay.

[Ryan Gabriel]

"Might be a good idea," Ryan conceded. "Thanks." He managed to make his way in without looking too stiff, which was a minor miracle.

[Rachel O'Brien]

"Not a problem." Rachel said as she started to get undressed for bed. "And, thanks for taking care of me in the helicopter."

[Ryan Gabriel]

"Hey, no problem," Ryan said, struggling out of his uniform top, wincing as he pulled it off of his injured arm. "That's what we do, right?"

[Rachel O'Brien]

"Even so, thanks" Rachel said "Um, I hope I wasn't babbling too much."

[Ryan Gabriel]

Ryan smiled a little. "Nah, not too badly. Told Merle that he was a jerk, that was nice to hear."

[Rachel O'Brien]

"Why did I do that?" Rachel asked

[Ryan Gabriel]

Ryan rolled his eyes. "Oh, he started trying to say that him ripping that car open in a hostage situation was on your orders. Thankfully, he politely shut the fuck up when I told him how close I was to trying to get him booted from the teams."

[Rachel O'Brien]

"That fucking asshole" Rachel said, her voice suddenly angry "Madrox asked me a question and I answered. I shouldn't have phrased it so that it sounded like a request, but Merle shouldn't have hauled off and ripped the door of the fucking van either. Not that is any comfort to the person who died, of course." she finished grimly.

[Ryan Gabriel]

"I wanted to knock him out, but honestly I just didn't have the energy," Ryan said, sounding just as irritated with the guy.

[Rachel O'Brien]

"Lets not worry about it." Rachel said, sitting on the edge of the bed as she opened a bottle of water and swallowed a couple of pills.

[Ryan Gabriel]

Ryan nodded, picking up his own bottle of painkillers, and taking the offered water bottle to take them. "Sounds like a plan to me. We're home, we're safe, let's just keep fixed on that."

[Rachel O'Brien]

"And sleep. Narcotics always knock me on my ass, and right now, that is a good thing."

[Ryan Gabriel]

Ryan nodded, taking up his customary position against the wall. "In that case, c'mere. Let's get some deserved rest."

[Rachel O'Brien]

"Sounds good to me." Rachel said, settling in beside him.

[Ryan Gabriel]

"Good, because I'm not budging for about eight hours minimum," Ryan chuckled, pulling her in and wrapping his wing over them.

[Rachel O'Brien]

"I'm going for twelve, myself" Rachel said, trying not to think about how good, how safe she felt laying beside him.

[Ryan Gabriel]

"Twelve, fourteen, a day, I don't care. Sleep is good," Ryan yawned, leaning forward lazily and kissing the back of her head.

[Rachel O'Brien]

"Night night" Rachel said, kissing his wing, because it was the only part she could reach easily.
