The helicopters sat, a safe distance apart, prepped for departure. There was one for each team to load into.

Will showed up, his skin an ashen-gray, shortly before the assigned departure time.

Bear entered, moving to her copter and loading her satchel and comm gear.
Her uniform was still lightweight to allow her as much acrobatic freedom as possible, but she did opt for a leather collar and some strategically placed leather patched for protection.

Rick approached his helicopter next. He appeared no worse for wear from the evening before; his wounds were mostly healed, though he was still wearing some bandages on his arm and leg, beneath his uniform.
"Morning," he said to Will.

"Morning, Rick. You ready to go?" Will said, all business.

"Definitely." You have no idea. "How about you?"

Sara arrives in her usual uniform, no fancy stuff done to it aside from being cut off at her calves. Her nervousness is pretty well hidden due to the fact that she's currently shifted into granite for that exact reason.

Will smiles at Sara, and waves from across the yard.

"That's the spirit!" He smirked a bit. Outwardly, all that he conveyed was a sense of calm confidence.

Spotting Will and Rick she walks over to them. "Hey. You don't look too well, Will... Or is that on purpose?" She faintly furrows her brow as she notices Will's skin-tone.

"And you're looking particularly craggy this morning, as well," Will laughed back.
"I've got zero blood at the moment, so I probably look a little pale."

"Well, I try to not gawk at shapeshifters, but since you brought it up..." Rick purposely cut his sentence off there, just chuckling a bit along with them. "Do both of you need to shift before you go on a mission for some reason?" He was a little confused.

"Don't have to, but it's one less thing to worry about when I get there. Plus, something this...fine, I suppose...takes more effort than mass construction and the like, in my case."

"Oh! Not a bad trick. And I figured I'd get myself used to being like this for longer stretches. Going back and forth like usual doesn't seem too appealing." Plus it's so much easier to look calm when your features are literally set in stone...

"Good thinking," Will nods. "Hate to be in midfight and have to, I dunno, shift out, right?"

"Not mid-fight anyway, but just walking around 'enemy territory' and leaving myself open doesn't sound too smart if I can avoid it."

"Well, it's a good plan. A firm plan. A well thought out plan.
It's rock-solid," Will smirked, giving Sara a kiss, rock or no rock.

She barely feels the kiss but smiles brightly anyway at the gesture.
"It does have it's advantages, yeah. Don't really have to worry about a bunch of things that'd be nasty otherwise."

"I'm sure. I can protect myself pretty well in a fight, but it takes some effort; I'd show you now, but I think I oughtta save my energy for now."

Will is having too good of a time, here.

"Well, I don't have to watch quite as much ESPN when he's out..." He smirked.
"But seriously, I know he's a very capable X-Man. With a good team around him, to boot," He smiled, looking at Sara, knowing that she would be part of his team, in this case. "That always helps."

"I guess this all is just too new still. All of it." she throws a quick smile Will's way.

Will nodded back. "Still, I suppose I COULD get used to it," he said with a smile.
"And don't worry. Ryan's the common sense on our squad," he said, sagely.

"Ryan's from a family of superheroes. He's been in this 'business' even longer than I have. I think he probably knows what he's doing more than anyone else on the teams."

"John and me both kind of lead the last time, but I'm not too fuzzed about doing that again, to be honest. Constantine picked up that mantle at the meeting at least."

"Well I dunno about his leadership skills. I just didn't like his attitude. Or Jayda's. If it was for them we'd be going in there loaded with guns, or that's the impression I got at least. The plan to hand Nina and Kaylee pistols only got abandoned because they're not licensed to wield them."
