Zoe got kitted up in her shiny new X-Men uniform, adorned with a series of extra straps and belts for decoration. She fired up the first level of basic self-defense training and took a loose stance as a single adversary materialized.
Okay, lets see what I remember...
(OOC: my internet is pretty spotty right now, I'm hooking up from hotspots whenever I can, so I'm gonna be slow. If anyone does wish to join in, feel free )
Zoe has enough training that the starting level is not too much trouble. As the voice comes through from the observation deck, she grins and tosses off a friendly wave. "Sure! C'mon in, the water's fine." She stretches a little more as John makes his way in. "I am just messing around and stuff, getting a feel for this sucker. Feel up to unarmed combat trainng or did you have something else in mind?"
"I dunno if you ever count as unarmed," she laughs, "But I guess it's the principle of the thing. Lessee if we can get the computer to fix us up with something suitable. Gonna be hard to balance for both of us, I might need you to cover my ass."
"Duly noted," she smirks, then issues some orders to the danger room. She's no programmer but the system is easily able to parse her requests. "Okay, let's change the program. Unarmed combat and team tactics. Start us slow please." After assessing the students profiles, an initial trio of human opponents materializes and starts to advance on the students.
"Only one way to find out for sure," she replies with a smooth grin. She beckons the trio closer with a taunting gesture before crouching low and planting her hand on the floor. With a moment's concentration she creates a slick patch in the path of the simulated enemies. John may have a herd time figuring out where the slick begins and ends, but his mass, claws, and tail give him a lot of help.
Zoe is there for the intercept, tumbling the figure to his back before following up with a dirty kick to the side. "I wish we had one of these at the Academy", she exults.
"Incoming!" she calls as she pushes off towards the last of the first wave. It's not the most elegant attack, but she manages to shoulder-check him off balance and toward John.
As the first wave drops to the floor, the danger room resets and generates a second wave. "I forget, did you ever take self defence? I'm sure glad I did some jujitsu, I'm rusty though."
"Go nuts. Prolly be good for you." Not liking these odds, she falls back and to one side of John. This group is smarter than the last though, and two of them circle around to attack that flank.
Zoe blinks at the casual display of strength, then gets a playful grin as she tries an experiment of her own. Her power kicks in to give her boots e tea traction as she starts sprinting into the biggest cluster. She doesn't have enough room to build up a lot of speed but she does what she can. A pace away, she reverses her power and has it affect her uniform, dropping into a slide to tumble as many enemies as she can. It mostly works; three go down, but one is close enough to give Zoe a swift punch. "Ow!"
"Fortune favours the bold," she retorts, "and you learn by failing, yeah?" she thumps the foe that hit her one final time for good measure before standing up again.
A few more swift moves from the pair finished off the simulated enemies. "Heh, no way I'm gonna get that good in a fight. Just not built for it, yeah? There's other ways to help though."
