Kyra went into the XUB and took a seat near Alex. By now, she was convinced that the school was fairly safe, but it didn't hurt to check again. Plus, Grandmother seemed happy that she was meeting new people, so she could socialize without guilt.
Morgan was at her usual seat in the XUB waiting for Connor to finish up work. Nursing her drink she was crowd watching, the various conversations for and against the visitors to campus never ceased to amuse her.
Stupid Plebs, there is no way I would be bragging about being flatscan stock. That's just.. wrong. Unnatural.
...BUT I KNOW FOR SURE THAT THEY DON'T CONSIDER ME HUMAN ANYMORE..
A brunette in a risque outfit made her way into XUB 3 and had a seat at the bar. Whoever she was, her thoughts were rather guarded and thus she'd had at least some training in telepathic defense. She slid ID to the bartender, who looked at it briefly, nodded, and poured her a scotch and mineral water while she pocketed the card again. Evidently she'd been there before.
"Its a very human custom. When you consider how many powers are intensified by touch, or the skin issues that go along with some physical mutations, casual handshaking makes no sense for mutants. Kyra noted the new person in the XUB, but didn't look at her in any detail. "I am, except for all of the flatscans." Kyra confided.
"Not all of us had the privilege of growing up somewhere like Genoshea, there have been more then a few of us here who haven't had much say in where we grew up." Morgan smiled at the girl.
"If you are going to be spending some time here and there are those amongst us that can be swayed to your cause with only a few nudges, then it may pay to remember that."
...BUT I KNOW FOR SURE THAT THEY DON'T CONSIDER ME HUMAN ANYMORE..
"Perhaps those that didn't enjoy it are just less vocal than those that do. The masses are pro-human or so it seems, voicing ones on thoughts is only for those who do not mind backing it up."
...BUT I KNOW FOR SURE THAT THEY DON'T CONSIDER ME HUMAN ANYMORE..
"No. I don't. Though I do wish I had of been one of the mutants that was lucky enough too manifest a physical difference." Morgan's tone betrays a sense of self-loathing.
...BUT I KNOW FOR SURE THAT THEY DON'T CONSIDER ME HUMAN ANYMORE..
"Did it ever occur to you that the ones that make the most noise about being superior beings are usually the ones that know the least on how to actually go about it?"
