"This is a violation of at least two treaties," Ryan coughed as he picked himself up out of a hole.

"Teaching them is our job. So parley with us," Cassiel said darkly as he walked out of the building, eyes glowing blue. "Oh, I'm sorry... aren't you the one whose job it is to open locked doors? With your head?"

[Madrox Saavedra]

Madrox floated to the ground.

"Not good..." he frowned, having identified the Imperial Guardsmen on his own.

Tommy moved to flank the newcomers.

bobby knew enough about the Imperial Guard to know this was serious, as if an unconscious Neo Phoenix was not.

Climbing to the top of the van he kept his gun down, but at the ready.

John emerged from the dorms at last, reading Cal's missive on his wrist device.

"You take one nap... and aliens attack," he muttered.

[Brett Wakely]

Brett and his illusion-copies fanned out cautiously, waiting for someone else to act first.

Will Stanton was guiding those of us with LESSER powers away from the quad and towards secure areas, and thus totally has an IC reason why he's not out there

"Watch your tongue, you insufferable, little, worm," Smasher snaps at Calvin, advancing towards the boy.

Bobby glared Smashers way, clearly not willing to put up with his threats.

Cal smirked. "Bring it, big guy," he said, dropping his staff into a fighting stance.

Valdis stayed put, but judging by her stance, she was itching to get into the fight again.

"The only danger the Phoenix has brought me has been the threat of Shi'ar extremists," Cassiel said, calmly walking down the stairs, positioning himself on the edge of the crater. He pointed at Gladiator. "The only way you get to the Phoenix is you, personally, coming through me." He smiled darkly. "I won't lie. I've been hoping to do this since I was their age."

[Kevin Gravis]

"Space elves just can't take a joke can they Cal?" Kev asked as he moved to back Cal up.

[Fang]

"We're waistin' time, boss," Fang growled.

[Gladiator]

"I agree. There are more important things here than settling scores."

A lambent energy swelled in Gladiator's eyes before lashing out as a coherent, white-hot beam at Cassiel's feet.

"Yield. I will not ask again."

[Michael Asters]

"Yield? I'm a student of Xavier, the scion of Magneto, and a leader of my people, and the boy who might have run from something like this has been gone for years. I am Cassiel, and I DO NOT YIELD!" Twenty years of rage was focused into a single telekinetic blast aimed directly at Gladiator's chest.

[Ryan Gabriel]

"Looks like our cue, guys!" Ryan shouted, firing a blast at Manta.

[Smasher]

"Finally," Smasher says, charging towards Cal, "For the Imperium!"

Roland faced off against Husar.

"Think you're fairly handy with that whip...boy?"

Daniel, ever the intelligent guy, figured that whoever Cassiel was taunting had to be the toughest guy there.

So naturally, that was who he dove at, streaking in with flame-blades coalescing in his hand.

John's armor oozed over his body as he rushed toward the fight, focused on Nuetron.

"Hey, hot stuff. Come and play," Taliyah says, summoning up several red spears and throwing them Starbolt's way.

bobby let out a few warning shots towards Manta, before shouldering his rifle and springing up with his powerful metal legsprings to catch her in midair.

[Starbolt]

"Hard-light?" Starbolt gave a hollow laugh as the spears impacted him, then slowly sank in as he absorbed their energy.

"Your planet's sayings did you a disservice. You can't fight fire with fire..."

He lashed out with plasma at Taliyah .

Amidst the battle, Claire makes her way carefully through the field, heading towards the crater with a trauma bag slung around her shoulder.

There's a rustle from the trees when suddenly a bundle of fur launches out, trying to pounce on Fang.

Gladiator was knocked back, skidding along the ground as debris built up in his wake. Rising from the rubble he swung at the approaching Daniel with a fist that bore the force of a wrecking ball.
