After a little while, Rachel drifted off to sleep.

Ryan drifted off soon after. His sleep seemed much more agitated than Rachel's though. It started out subtly enough, just a twitch here and there, but it grew a bit more pronounced after a while, and he started murmuring things in his sleep, with his mouth still unfortunately close to Rachel's ear.

Rachel wasn't used to sleeping with someone else, and the wiggling and talking woke her up fairly quickly. With surprising gentleness, she stroked his cheek, trying to wake him up slowly.
