"I don't," Rick muttered bluntly, after Marcus. "I'm gonna go order someting to drink. You want anything?," he asked Marcus.

Kaylee walked in, making her way straight towards the bar. She stopped when she noticed Marcus and squealed.

"Marcus!"

"I can always return to Oxford for post-graduate work, should I decide to take my education that far. I must confess that the business program here looks intriguing. And, of course, the interstellar diplomacy major is unique. Have you declared a major as of yet?"

"Sure Rick. Just a beer's fine." He nodded as he listened to Talia. "Ah. Then it doesn't sound like too big of a deal. Not exactly sure on my major yet but I've been taking some Media Arts and Computer science courses lately." He blinked when he heard his name and looked up to spot Kaylee.

"Kaylee!" He hopped up from his chair and ran over towards her to give her a hug.

She giggled at the hug, returning it. "Hey Marcus! Surprise! I could of told you I was coming here but I thought it'd be more fun this way." She peered around Marcus to give a wave to Rick. "Hey Rick!" She looked at Rick..then back at Marcus then to Rick again. She got all excited.

"Oohh! That's your Rick! Haha! I'm stupid."

He let Kaylee go and laughed. "Haha. That's right. The one and only." He smirked then looked over at Brett. "Hey man." He said as he moved back to stand beside Rick to take his beer.

Rick suddenly clutched his beer very hard. Much harder, and it might've broken. "Nope," he agreed with Marcus. He held Marcus' father with less regard than he did his own; which was saying something.

Brett came back with two beers as well, noting the change in atmosphere, and simply handed Kaylee her drink, not saying anything.

She took the beer from Brett. "Thanks!" She blinked at the two. "I sssoo killed that happy mood. Eh heh. Sorry. Anyway, just to get all bad news out of the way since I'm guessing you two haven't heard yet. They're planning on visiting you two soon."

"For some reason, I'm not all that surprised." He said before taking a few gulps of his beer. "We were thinking about inviting them out here anyway to try and work stuff out. I guess they just beat us to the punch."

She nodded in agreement. "Anyway, back to more cooler things. So, you two? Three years? People get married in less time than that." She teased.

She looked over at Brett. "I know Marcus back from Seattle when I lived there for awhile. I did go to XI but I think both of them had already graduated before I did."

Kaylee's comment made him blush a bit and he looked away from her. "Yeah. They do Kaylee." He said, rubbing the back of his head.

"Nice to meet you Talia! I'm Kaylee!" Kaylee stared at Talia for a moment and suddenly, her expression lit up even brighter. "Your hair and eyes are so pretty!" She said, noticing the glow to them.

Talia is a little surprised at Kaylee's enthusiasm, but she smiles sincerely at the compliment, "Thank you. It certainly saves on salon time to get it dyed. It seems my power never truly shuts off." She lifts her free hand closed in a fist then slowly opens the fingers, revealing a small flame in the palm.

"You're welcome. They're beautiful." Kaylee said with a smile then eyed the display of Talia's power. "Oh. You can control fire! I guess make it too huh? That's really cool." She pouted but her expression and tone of her voice was playful. "I wish my power did neat stuff like that."

"Expensive in what way? Physically and mentally I'm guessing?" She asked, pretty interested. "Uh.." She looked away from Talia for a moment. "Well, uh, I have the ability to control microorganisms. Bacteria and stuff."

"I have not declared a major yet. I should probably do that soon, as I technically have a few years under my belt and my previous credits carry over here. I am in no rush to graduate though. At the moment, I am mainly taking general courses, history, English, and a little performing arts."
