Sara makes her way to Dr. Crushers office, stopping and wondering a little at the OB/GYN on the door plate as she opens the door. Still looking a little confused she steps inside. "Good afternoon. I'm Sara Evans, I got a mail with an appointment. Am I right here?"

"Yes, you found the right office Ms. Evans, please have a seat. I just want to discuss something that came up in your recent physical."

"No, it's impossible. And I don't mean 'Accidents don't happen to me' impossible, I mean literally. Will isn't even fertile unless he wants to be."

"Is it possible that Will made a mistake?" Dr. Crusher asked "What are the nature of his powers?"

"He's a shapeshifter. He's... basically some kind of featureless mass of protoplasm." she pauses for a moment. "He has been having some problems with shifting lately, but... that'd be something awfully specific for an accidental shift..."

"Its entirely possible that it was subconcious on his part." Dr. Crusher said "In any case, you have several options....if you wish to terminate the pregnancy, we offer those services, or we can help you find an adoptive family. If you want to raise it yourself, the school can offer assistance with that as well."

"B-but... I've been shifting!" At that she turns herself into stone. "That has to be some kind of mistake or mix-up or something..." Dr. Crusher seeming certain enough to just go on in the projected chain of events makes Sara's arguing sound more like pleading now.

"I know that its a lot to take in." Dr. Crusher said "Its something of a myth that shifters can't shift when they are pregnant. Its true that most can't, but some women can shift safely during the first trimester. Some can shift through the whole pregnancy, but that is very rare." she paused for a moment "If you like, we can do an ultrasound, just to confirm things. I'd like to do one anyway, just to be sure of the dates."

"Yes, please. No offense, but still find that hard to believe. That should clear that right up." She shifts back to normal, regaining a bit of her composure at Dr. Crusher's 'admission' of still having to confirm this.

"If you'll come with me to the examination room, we can do the ultrasound right now." Dr. Crusher said, standing up from her desk.

Dr. Crusher led her to a examination room, where there was a small ultrasound machine. "Please lie down on the table." she said to Sara "You don't need to undress, just expose your abdomen."

"This might be a little cold." Dr. Crusher said, squirting some greenish goop onto Sara's stomach, just below her navel "Ok, lets see what we have here...." she said, half to herself as she pressed the ultrasound probe hard against Sara's abdomen.

After a few moments, she turned the monitor so that Sara could see it. "Ok, that area" she pointed to a grey mass that looked like a cloud "Is your uterus. As you can see, its larger than normal. And that" she indicated a circle near the bottom of the image "Is the yolk sac. Its too early to see much, but it appears that you are approximately five weeks pregnant, which means that conception would have occurred about 3 weeks ago."

Sara flinches at the cold goo, fidgeting a little until Dr. Crusher turns the monitor towards her and starts explaining, at which point the colour pretty much drains from her face. "B-but... how?" She stares at the grainy image and the greyish circle Dr. Crusher pointed at.

Dr. Crusher hit a button and printed out a image of the ultrasound "Sara, this is all very real. The school has resources to help you out with whatever choice you make, but you the sooner you decide, the easier it will be."

"A few of them do...if you decide to terminate, it is easier and safer to do that as soon as possible. If you think there is any chance that you will carry the pregnancy to term, you need to start taking a pre-natal vitamin, and and abstain from alcohol. Since shifting doesn't seem to be a problem for you, you don't need to avoid that."

Will moved around, a bit uncomfortably, his arm wrapped around Sara, as he let her do the driving--he had never been an OB/GYN's office before and, no matter what the people at the physical had said, had not planned to come to one for quite some time.

"Enough that the spiel propably answers alot of them already, I guess..." she answers, still feeling a little awkward about freaking out a little and basically fleeing the office earlier.
