Jayda eyed the scene from her spot at the end of the bar, her hands cradling her pint casually, her ears listening despite the seeming disinterest as she flicked her eyes back to her beer.

"What else is he going to be? Shiny bird boy is either bedding little girls or preening... seems like he fits the 'hero' role perfectly. Mouthy like one too."

"Maybe you should look at getting a gag for your boyfriend Closer, though from what I heard it wouldn't be the first time Birdie let someone gag him - maybe next time we will be luckier and they will finish the job properly."

Bear glared at Jayda. She liked her well enough, and was disappointed she was shaking the hornet's nest.

Bear shook her head no to Ryan, taking a sip.

Exodus voice is gentle but firm. Slowly he stands.

"It seems my presence is causing petty squabbles. Frankly, I expected better of the sons and daughters of Xavier," Exodus says, "It seems I was mistaken."

"Our kind has plenty of enemies outside these walls. You should endeavor to not make more within."

"No need, we seem to just be inviting them in," Ryan answered without looking up from his table.

Bear kept her back to Exodus as he mulled over leaving, exhaling with relief.

Jayda looked up at Rachel directing a reply her way, her eyes dark with thoughts that she didn't speak.

Nodding in acknowledgement to Exodus she picked up her drink and took a mouthful before speaking.

Rachel shivered a bit as she caught Jayda's thoughts You are one scary girl. Rachel replied And he was a dick to your sister. But that doesn't mean you should start a bar brawl.

"Perhaps," Exodus says with a nod, briefly turning to Ryan, "If you wish to speak with me as a man rather then snipe at me like a child, come visit me."

Exodus nods at Jayda with a small smile, "And you're welcome as well. If you'd like to speak properly."

Exodus heads towards the door.

You know it Princess and thats why you want to bed me. Jayda chuckled taking another mouthful of her drink though unaware of what Rachel was referring too.

"Thank you Sir, I will keep that in mind, perhaps when I finish my drink." She replied to Exodus' invitation.

"Slicing up bed partners? What the fuck are you on about?" Jayda looked at Rachel with very thinly veiled (to the point of being non-veiled) disgust rising from her seat. Pulling a twenty from her back pocket she threw it on the bar glancing once at Ryan and Bear then back to Rachel.

"Don't act like a fucking martyr Rachel, I know you were fucking Con and just what that was all about. I've seen his playroom and the knife collection."

Bear cringed, both at Exodus' exit, and Jayda's outburst.

It had been a relatively nice evening up to about ten minutes ago, she decided.

Ryan, in the meantime, gritted his teeth, taking deep breaths to calm himself. Then, without warning, he stood and headed through the door, after Sam and Exodus.

We'll talk about this later. Rachel mindspoke to Jayda, as she felt Mac starting to get on her case a few seconds before it happened. "I'm sorry, boss."

"Look, Rachel, I don't give a toss. Your own time is you own, but stop bloody making scenes at work. Understood."

"Yes, sir." Rachel said, glumly grabbing a rag and starting to wipe tables.

There's nothing to talk about. Jayda picked up her jacket and headed out of the bar on Ryan's heels, her face set in grim lines.

Bear finished her own drink, and after several long moments, left herself.
