Late in the Library

[Mercy Wilkins]

Mercy is finishing up her evening shift in the Library, making way for the poor sods who have to work the graveyard shift. Her wings are easily seen bobbing along as she moves through the stacks, putting away the last of the stuff that people put on carts in the last few hours.

[Juma Ngomo]

Juma is just finishing up some research for a Philosophy paper when he notices the distinct black wings bobbing along. With a smile, he rises and moves over to her cart, casually adding one more book to her workload.

Mercy sighs, and then looks up at Juma. The sigh becomes a grin instead. She slips gracefully up against Juma to give him a gentle hug. "Hello handsome."

[Juma Ngomo]

He happily returns the hug, gently stroking a hand down one of Mercy's wings, "Good evening beautiful. How is your shift going?"

[Mercy Wilkins]

Mercy checks her cellphone. "It's over in... oh, it's been over for about three minutes." She stretches, especially the wings. "It was alright. The evening shift is pretty quiet, people are mostly doing homework."

[Juma Ngomo]

"That is a good sign. I imagine working in a library is generally quiet. Would you care to walk with me for a bit? I have something to ask of you."

[Mercy Wilkins]

"Oh my, this sounds so formal. Sure, I'd love to walk with you."

[Juma Ngomo]

He grins at that, "Old habits die hard. I use more slang now than I used to, but my English teachers were rather strict about certain things." He heads along through the library, waiting for her to pick up anything she might need before going off shift. Once they're in the lobby area which is not as hush sensitive, he continues, "Well, it turns out I have an invitation to a party, for all of the X-Team members. And guests. I was hoping you would accompany me."

[Mercy Wilkins]

Mercy picks up her purse, and heads out with Juma. After getting the invitation, she smiles, brushing her hair back. "I'd love to go. Is it formal?"

[Juma Ngomo]

He produces the elaborate invitation for Mercy's perusal, "Smart dress, which seems to be less than formal but more than casual. Fashion still gives me a headache sometimes. And thank you for joining me," he grins, more broadly this time.

[Mercy Wilkins]

"But of course. Are you busy for the rest of your night, or can you come talk a while? It's still pretty early in the night for me."

[Juma Ngomo]

"I've just finished with my secondary sources and the paper is going well, I would love to spend some more time with you. The only thing I might have gotten up to was some more practice shifting," he concludes with a shrug, dismissing that as not terribly important.

[Mercy Wilkins]

"You can shift around me if you want." Mercy leads the way out of the Library and over to the Dorm Lounge.
