Sept 25 - Late Breakfast

[Winston Sharpe]

"I'm pretty sure it was a fight, there's not much of the showers left standing and people don't often get sent to the doctors from rough-housing...well, maybe here they might," Winston said to Kathrin, before rolling his head around his arms to face Calvin, "and I came out better than what's-his-face, giant-man guy, he could barely move when I left him." Winston found himself smiling at the cyborg.

[Juma Ngomo]

"Pardon me for interrupting, but I find myself fascinated. Are you actually proud of demolishing a facility set up to help mutants gain an education, and also proud of hurting a fellow mutant in a mindless brawl?"

[Kathrin Schmidt]

"Yeah, I mean stuff breaks, big whoop, but fighting and then leaving someone who can barely move? Real classy there." she frowns.

[Winston Sharpe]

"What?" Winston mumbled as he pushed his head up to stare at the two, "No, they're fine with it, there were security and doctor people there and no I'm not proud of what happend, I might brag about it later but no, I am not proud."
Winstons arms collapsed again with his face following it to the table, "Plus it was mostly Kelly's fault, he started it."

[Kathrin Schmidt]

"Dude, if you accidently punch someone's face in, or you know, whatever you actually did, you stick around to make sure they're alright, doctor's or not. And come-the-fuck-on, he started it? What is this, kindergarten?"

[Mercy Wilkins]

Mercy sighs. "I really was hoping we could get away from this kind of stuff now that we're out of high school."

[Winston Sharpe]

Winston groaned, "Ok, I regret I attacked back the guy who was throwing walls at me, I was planning on seeing him eventually, saying 'hey I'm sorry I burned you a little after you threatened to crush me.', jesus, I said it was all a misunderstanding, can we please talk about something else? Juma, weren't you going to show your powers?"

Juma shares Mercy's sigh and adds a nod of agreement. "Perhaps another time, Winston."

[Winston Sharpe]

Winston grimaced, "This is going to hang over me for a while isn't it?" He said as he got up, leaving his untouched cereal on the table, he began to walk off, "Yea, nice to meet you all."

[Mercy Wilkins]

Mercy steals an orphaned piece of sausage from Juma's plate. "See you around, I suppose."

[Kathrin Schmidt]

"Shit happens. Your attitude about it just needs some work." she smirks at Winston as he walks off, not really angry at him.

"And score! Free cereal!" Reaching across the table she snatches up Winston's abandoned bowl.

[Mercy Wilkins]

"So Kathrin, what are you taking?"

[Kathrin Schmidt]

"Aside from his cereal? Music, performing arts."

[Winston Sharpe]

Winston raises his hand to wave, though he doesn't turn back to them, he just continues making his way to the door and leaves.

[Mercy Wilkins]

"Oh, sounds fun." Mercy lazily stretches her wings. "Going for orchestral stuff, opera, pop?"

[Kathrin Schmidt]

"Well some diversity can't hurt, but no thanks on the classical stuff. I can play some other things too, but I'm a drummer at heart. Rock's the name of the game." she grins, twirling a spoon on her fingers.

[Mercy Wilkins]

"Really? Wow, it's fairly rare to see someone specializing in rock drumming at school."

[Kathrin Schmidt]

"It's not a very academic subject no." She laughs. "But like I said, some diversity and theory is never bad."

[Mercy Wilkins]

"Well it sounds fun anyway. Going to start a band?"

[Kathrin Schmidt]

"Hopefully. Some people have been talking about it, but I don't think anyone's actually done something about it yet. Maybe I should throw up something on the net..."

[Mercy Wilkins]

"Might take a business class or two. It'll help you out later when people are trying to get you to sign predatory contracts."

[Kathrin Schmidt]

"Yeah. But I'm saving the more boring stuff till later. And what is it that's giving you so much homework to do?"

[Mercy Wilkins]

Mercy smirks. "Business classes." She winks, not offended by having her minor called boring, "And Interstellar Diplomacy."

[Kathrin Schmidt]

"Ooh, diplomacy, extra boring!" She smirks. "But seriously, space diplomacy sounds like a whole different playing-field. So you want to go out there and meet aliens?"

[Calvin Strong]

"So there really are people taking the 'talk to aliens' classes? Cool," Cal said, grinning. "I thought about it, until I got a few reports on what Shi'ar 'diplomacy' is like. Knocked that idea out of my head right quick."

[Mercy Wilkins]

"I figure the Shi'ar will like me, what with the wings and all. But yes, I fully intend to meet as many aliens as possible. And sell them things." She grins.

[Kathrin Schmidt]

"All those exotic Earth-Goodies like Coke and these singing plastic fish." she snickers.

[Mercy Wilkins]

"Why not? I'm sure aliens have their own products, but I bet they don't have anything exactly like The Real Thing."

"It's a good opportunity for trade and increasing understanding."

[Kathrin Schmidt]

"Of course it is. I'm just foolin' around. But it's also a great opportunity to show them some Earth humour! As long as it's not with the 'Go to war at the tiniest provocation' guys."

[Calvin Strong]

"So not with the Shi'ar, the Kree, the Skrulls... are there really that many more races out there?"

[Mercy Wilkins]

"There have to be, it's a big galaxy."

[Juma Ngomo]

Juma is polite enough to wave to Winston as the brash boy departs. He listens to the following conversation with interest, sparing Mercy a smirk to go along with her ill-gained sausage.

"I have already encountered enough Skrulls in training simulations to know that I would rather leave the diplomacy to someone else. I have no desire to meet one in person."

[Mercy Wilkins]

"There have to be some reasonable ones. You'd have a really bad opinion of anyone if all you met were their spies."

[Juma Ngomo]

"Touche. After all, as we have just seen, there is a rather large range of behaviour and personality among our own species."
