Roland strolled along the cliff, stopping when he saw Caledfwlch.
"Hello..." he said, puzzled.

The sword's magic hummed and moved like waves, entering from the earth, moving up to the pummel and back down into the earth again. Vivienne came from another direction, another volume of the encyclopedia in her arms. "Good day." She nodded politely and took a seat on the ground beside the sword.

"Good day...what have we here?"

"I believe it is the third volume of the most recent edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica."

"Amusing. No, I meant the giant sword."

"Giant?" She looked at it but failed to see it as he did apparently. "I am surprised you are not aware of Caledfwlch. It and I have had a very bumpy beginning here. Have you just arrived?"

"No. Rather the opposite, actually.
Why have you chosen...that name?"

"That is its' name. I have noticed most have trouble pronouncing it, I believe I may begin calling it Cale when I am not wielding it." She lightly touched the flat of the blade and instead of invisible magic, water moved up from the earth to her hand and returned again.

"That name has some...historic connotations."

"Yes, my mother said that it would mark me as the champion of the Tuatha De Danann."

That got Vivienne's attention and she stood quickly. "What?! How dare you!?"

"I dare because I was there. I never returned Excalibur to the Lady of the Lake."

"So you are the thief! It is your fault my mother has suffered so! I demand you return the one called Excalibur, it was not meant for anyone but the mortal King Arthur."

"Arthur himself gave the sword to me, his Knight of the Round Table."
Of course, Arthur had instructed him to cast it into the lake, but details were details.

"Impossible and irrelevant, Arthur's own knights betrayed him. Excalibur could be in your possession as an ill gained spoil of war. If you were loyal to the King at all you would have return it to my mother long ago." As she spoke the ground around their feet became noticeable soggier. "Since it is STILL in your possession after all this time, I can only come to one conclusion, you are a thief and a traitor."

A short ways away and several stories up, Victoria landed on the roof of the lighthouse, peering over the top. "Did I miss it? I didn't want to miss this..."

"Nothing to miss quite yet." Nailah says, glancing up briefly at Victoria before turning her eyes back down to where Roland and Vivienne are talking.

"Then you are an abomination and no friend to those of this place. I shall reclaim Excalibur and rid this good place of you." She placed her hand on the pummel of Caledfwlch and spoke. "Caledfwlch, gwarcheidwad dewch! (Guardian come!)". Her watery guardian rose around the sword, taking form and placeing a large hand on Vivienne's shoulder. Though true to her word, Caledfwlch still rested in the ground.

A whizzing sound and a grapple attached to the top of the lighthouse, followed quickly by Bear vaulting up with the others.
"I got your text. Is it going down?" She asked, glancing over the side.

"An abomination? I've taken ownership of that fact. And I shall not be threatened by a watery tart."
Roland, without any special powers or weapons on him, simply moved into a fighting stance.

"Then you have confirmed you are a demon, a thief, and a known traitor without loyalties to any, including those on this isle." The Guardian stepped forward and shrank forming around her body. "I am no more a tart then you are a Knight. I am Vivienne Chinn Oir, daughter of Niamh Chinn Oir, Lady of the Lake. You have something that belongs to me." She stepped away from Caledfwlch.

"I am a Knight of the Round Table. I am the Champion of Roncevaux and Chief Steward to the throne of Kiya. My loyalties go with what I feel is right. And I shall not be told what I can and can not do by a little girl."
He narrowed his eyes at her.
"And nothing I have belongs to anyone else."

"You may have been, but now you are not and you are very wrong." She gathered the water that had gathered at her feet and threw a softball sized sphere at Roland. "You are NOT Merlin! You are NOT Arthur! You will NOT keep my mother's power hostage any longer!"

Roland took the shot to the chest, and took a step backwards from the impact, wincing and dropping to a knee for a moment.
"You're right, I'm not. I am Roland Sackville, and I do not let the Gods control my life."
He rose again, and took a measured step towards her.

"What do the Elders have to do with this? It is not their power that you have, it is my mother's. Give it back!" She threw two more spheres.

"Your mother gave her power to Earth," Roland said, dodging the blasts now that he knew they were coming, and steadily closing the ground. "I shall not let power like this be doled out as if we were children."

"You have no right to decide that! It is not yours to keep!" She yelled as she knelt and slammed her hand on the ground the water rushing up to form a wall between the two of them. "He begged for aid, called upon her love for him. Made promises of honoring the old ways, of ending the slaughter if the boy king was placed on the mortal throne! She gave of herself when no one else would! Give it back!"

A shape plummets down from the lighthouse, unfolding her wings at the last second to break her fall and land next to the wall of water.
"Alright, I think it is time to calm down before someone gets hurt."

Victoria, meanwhile, was pacing around them, marking out a circle on the ground. "Rather... uncouth display, really."

A zip line grapples the ground, as another figure descends.
"As impressive as you both looked.. Let the shoreline alone. Keep it to the Danger room."
