Bear made a check next to Winifred's printed name, smiling and then giving her a hug.

She then turned to the two new arrivals.

"Hi, I'm Byrna Cooper. Thanks for coming to this introductory session with the Danger Room, which might be new to a few of you. We're not going to get too extreme in this first session, We're just going to discuss what we can do individually, and see how the Danger Room can help us expand that."

"Sorry!" Maya squeaks. "I'm Maya. Maya Mills. Some of you, some of you already know me."

Maya glances at Graham and nervously looks away.

"I turn into smoke. Sometimes. I can't...I can't do it on purpose. Yet."

Okay. That was good. A little bit rambley, but not too bad. Now shut up before you say anything stupid.

"I don't actually want to kill anyone," Maya says suddenly, looking towards Graham. "Or eat them. Or...anything...."

Damn it!

"Ok, nice to meet you all! And for those who have heard the rumors, yes, this room is where the X-Teams practice their self defense and combat routines. But, it can also be used in a bit more personal way, helping you to learn about and control your mutant gifts."

Graham nodded and walked out into the empty part of the room, shifting to his satyr-like form as he did so.

"User: Graham Jaeger. Computer, level one obstacle course. Randomized."

A simple gauntlet of narrow bridges, swinging pendulums, and moving platforms resolved into being. Graham took a running start and with little to no hesitation at each trap, managed to dodge and gracefully leap his way to the finish.

He returned to human and bowed. "So... yeah. It makes me pretty quick."

Despite looking lame.
