Dinner Date: High Steaks

The server seats Murphy and Theresa fairly quickly. It was a quiet night and there were only a handful of people in the restaurant. Murphy looks vaguely uncomfortable, but that's normal for her in any sort of town. A mixture of information overload, instinctual wariness, and general social anxiety conspires to always put her on a little bit of an edge.
"Nice night," Murphy says.

"You've met my ex, Kay. It was nice, but it was high school and things just didn't work. I was a bit of an ass and it just kind of imploded. At least we're still friends."

Murphy frowns. She looks thoughtful, "She needed more. Tried. Couldn't."
Murphy shrugs.

"Fair enough," Theresa says with a chuckle. Then she sobers a bit, "Semi-serious question: Who's safe to tell about you and me? I mean, I don't want to accidentally out you to anyone you aren't okay with me telling. Not that it's not kind of obvious at this point... but..."

"I haven't said anything to your sister, if that's what's worrying you. She knows I went out with someone and she could probably put two and two together, but I haven't explicitly confirmed anything."

"My parents found out the hard way after a call from my old high school because some of the students decided to scrawl... well... names I won't repeat all over my locker. It... well... it's better now, but it was kind of a shock to their system at the time."

Murphy smiles. She looks a bit embarrassed but is obviously enjoying the attention, "Umm...Roomed with a girl. Brought her boyfriend to the room a lot. One night we...'got involved'."
"Curious, but...repressed. Got bit by a werewolf and..." Murphy blushes, "Less repressed. Experimented with pack. Things got serious."
"Realized I was into girls. Suddenly...made sense."

Theresa processed the story with a nod, though her eyes yellowed briefly at the mention of 'experimenting with pack' before returning to normal, "Well, that's certainly a more interesting path to realization than mine."

"It's not all that interesting really. Just realized in high school that boys didn't get to me the way girls did. Didn't really have a frame of reference at the start. Once I had a frame of reference, I had enough of a reference to know it wasn't exactly a welcome thing around my hometown."

"The... urges are a bit much sometimes. The number of times I fantasized about kicking Steph's ass in the last 24 hours is probably not entirely healthy, but some of the other urges are kind of fun." She grinned at Murphy.
