You have the right to feel really, really stupid

Though many students might prefer going to London, Maldon provides closer amenities for those without a car or unwilling to pay for a cab. Several pubs are available, though the Rose and Crown is notable for having been where Excalibur spent a good deal of their downtime. Also of note is the Plume Library, home to many rare books.

Which was about when Connor angrily swatted her hand away, telling the Cabbie to get moving.

"You've still got all the cuts and bruises." Isabel said "I just took care of the brain damage and the almost broken bones."

Connor took the jar from her and opened it up, pulling some bills out. "Let me out here, then take her wherever she wants to go," he said to the cabbie, screwing the lid on again.

"No, no bloody breakfast," Connor shot back. "Bloody hell, don't you get it? What I do is mine, the choices I make are mine, and they might be bloody daft sometimes, but you don't get to bloody well take them away from me. You want to pity the poor stupid hooligan, fine. Do it and then sod off with the rest of them. I can manage my bloody self."

"I don't pity you." Isabel said "I think that you're too stubborn for your own good, and that you should have the sense to take help when its offered. I also think that you owe me breakfast, since I healed out and you woke me up at an ungodly hour."

"I'm not a goddamn charity case," Connor shot back at her. "I don't bloody need you or any of the other bleeding hearts that just have to poke in and do enough to make their bloody consciences shut up. I haven't had anyone helping me for twenty bleedin' years, and I don't think I'm too buggered up." He wrenched the lid off the jar again, throwing another bill at her as the cab stopped. "There, get yourself some bloody breakfast."
