I12DT: Late Night Pickup

Though many students might prefer going to London, Maldon provides closer amenities for those without a car or unwilling to pay for a cab. Several pubs are available, though the Rose and Crown is notable for having been where Excalibur spent a good deal of their downtime. Also of note is the Plume Library, home to many rare books.

I12DT: Late Night Pickup

It was well past midnight and Mars was sneaking around the back of the local post office. In a moment, she planned on breaking in, but for now she was just casing the joint and trying her best to look casual.

It was entirely possible that her family had not given her reasonable problem solving skills.

Like most of the buildings in this part of Maldon, the post office was sandwiched between other buildings. It had shut down officially around 10:00 PM, but there had been someone in there for at least an hour longer before the lights had turned out and that person had left, locking the doors behind them.

Mars went to the door where she was least likely to be seen and tapped into the skills of Rezzo the Unkillable Man, an escape artist for the Circus of Crime.

Taking out a couple of tools, she quickly set to work picking the locks with all the talents of an expert burglar.

The lock was actually pretty sophisticated, but then again, it was a post office. With a quiet click, the door unlocked.

Pulling a ski-mask over her head, Mars quickly opens the door and steps inside, closing it behind her.

She then gets to work looking for any information she can find on the postman who delivered the strange letter to her.

As the door opens, a soft beeping starts coming from a panel on the wall next to the door.

The personnel schedules and details themselves seem to be largely computerized, though there is a large bulletin board in what looks like a break room that has a posted schedule.

Marcie starts scanning it for the name of the postman who delivered the letter. Once she found it, she would take the schedule.

Because stalking was the perfect follow-up to this plan.

His name was on the schedule and the route to the school seemed to be his regular route.

The soft beeping continued for a few moments longer before a full-on alarm started.

Mars swore in French, heading towards the exit quickly, tucking the schedule into her pocket.

Marcie managed to make it out of the building before she heard the police sirens in the distance, heading towards the postal office.

Well. That wasn't very elegant, Mars thinks, disappearing down an alley.
