Under Repairs

[Charlotte Irving]

Charlie was walking around campus and passed the cafeteria. It was a few days after the games and most of the windows had been recently replaced, but with protective film still on. The area where Alex crashed through was still boarded up and the field outside was more than a little rough.

"What happened here?" Charlie said to herself.

[Veronica Glarette]

Veronica was on her way to the cafeteria herself to get some lunch. Seeing Charlie look at the area, she explained a bit. At least, as much as she had heard about it. "Apparently zere was a game off some kind zat went on. I sink it went a little overboard, non?" She says with a small smile.

[Charlotte Irving]

"Yes, I'd say it must have." Charlie said while turning to Veronica.

[Veronica Glarette]

She gives Charlie a friendly smile. "I haf not seen you zus far on campus. You are new?"

[Charlotte Irving]

"Yes, I just got here."

[Veronica Glarette]

"Well, welcome. My name is Veronica. You are to be a part off zee high school, non?" Duh. What a stupid question. She looks really young.

[Charlotte Irving]

"Yes, I'll be in XI. I'm Charlotte though I usually go by Charlie."

[Veronica Glarette]

"Charlie. Eet is a pleasure. Where are you from?"

[Charlotte Irving]

"Dundee Scotland."

[Veronica Glarette]

"Scotland!" She smiles wide. "Is eet as beautiful as zey say?"

[Charlotte Irving]

"There are spots, of course I think that goes for most places."

[Veronica Glarette]

She nods. "So are you completely new here? Or haf you attending in previous years? I know zere are some zat have returned at a later time."

[Charlotte Irving]

"Completely new. I got here to the medical center to try and figure out my mutation two days ago. It took them awhile."

[Veronica Glarette]

"But zey eventually figured eet out?"

[Charlotte Irving]

"Yes, eventually. It is quite unusual, to quote what one of the lab techs said."

[Veronica Glarette]

"Unusual or not, eet is good zat sings are being figured out. Small steps at a time, non?"

[Charlotte Irving]

"Yeah, it actually explained a lot. Now I just need to get control of it."

[Veronica Glarette]

"Eet will come in time. I could go on and gif you advice, but I imagine it would sound like droning and annoying banter at zis point, non?" She says with a chuckle.

[Charlotte Irving]

"I guess. I've never thought much of that motivational talk stuff."

[Veronica Glarette]

"Anyone can make words sound pretty, but it's best when zey come from someone who knows you best and truly means it."

[Charlotte Irving]

"I'll agree with that."

[Veronica Glarette]

"Well, I should get my lunch. Eet has been lovely meeting you. If you need help around or anysing, feel free to ask. I do not know zis place *zat* well, but I can help a bit if needed."
