I12DT: Lillian and Marcie's Room ((Open))

Up until recently maintained as a museum, the childhood home of the Braddock family has been pressed into service as additional housing and classroom space for the Institute. Additionally, the increased demands have led to the main ballroom being converted into a cafeteria for both the Institute and those University students on a meal plan. Student reactions have been mixed, and reports of paranormal activity are as of yet unsubstantiated.

A bengal cat lounged lazily in the windowsill at the back of the room, the afternoon sun warming her silver fur as she basked in its radiance. Her tail languidly swayed as she rested, and she closed her eyes because she quickly became bored with watching the birds. She really needed to get a hobby....

But the sun - oh the wonderful sun! -was at its peak and she wasn't about to miss out on a perfectly good nap.
She took naps on a daily basis but it usually involved curling up in her bed under the blankets because a majority of the time it was just too damn cold.

The dorm room was pretty bare with the exception of a bunk bed on the right side of the wall and a writing desk on the left. She had a few things like the collection of books piled high on the desk next to her reading glasses, and the small assortment of clothes ( she only had a week's worth) stuffed in the drawers on the side of the bunk bed, but the most prized possession she owned was a catnip infused mouse toy that rested between her paws.

Mars came into the room, carrying a bag full of supplies from some of the shops. Setting it down, she spotted the cat lounging.

"Oh, hey there," Mars says, walking over and reaching out to stroke Lillian on the back of the head, "What are you doing in here?"

She was in a light sleep until someone had decided to wake her up. For a brief moment she looked annoyed. Lillian stood up and arched her back in a deep spinal stretch, yawning tiredly from a hard day's work of being lazy. She sat up and blinked at Mars curiously.

"Sorry," Mars says, looking amused, "Didn't mean to wake you up."

The kitty picked up the mouse toy with her mouth and jumped down from the windowsill. She trotted over to the bunk bed, but not before weaving herself through Mar's feet and rubbing against her ankles. After climbing to the top bunk, Lillian dropped the toy on top of her pillow and continued to watch Mars curiously.

"So, do you live here, kit?" Mars asks, starting to take fabric and other sewing supplies out of her bags, "Honestly, I'm glad for the company."

"I dunno how people can stand being all alone in these big rooms," Mars says, "I shared a place half this size with three of my aunts. It feels kinda lonely in here, y'know?"
