Mars sits down across from her, eating an apple.

"Evening," Mars says, smiling at the new person.

"I suppose it is." Mariuset replied "The day has passed quickly. I am Mariuset, it is good to meet you."

"May I ask you a question?" Mariuset said, holding up a fry "Are these supposed to be warm?"

"Well, they'd taste pretty gross if they were cold," Mars says, "You've never had fries before?"

"No, I haven't." she said "I am....quiet a long distance from where I was brought up, and we didn't really eat our food hot. Or cooked, for that matter."

"Lemuria." she replied "And most recently Atlantis. But this is my home now, so I need to begin to adjust airbre-, um, human ways."

Zeryn walked into the cafeteria, once again lamenting the lack of sushi chefs here. But it was reasonable enough to eat, and...

His gaze fell on Mariuset out of the corner of his eye. Ah, good. She's socializing.

"That is so cool," Mars says, "Are you enjoying the surface world so far?"

"Yes, quite a lot." she said "I just arrived today, but already I'm enjoying being able to walk around freely." she would have said more, but just then she spotted Zeryn "Zeryn!" she called "come sit over here, and let me introduce you to Mars!"

Zeryn stopped, caught, and turned toward the table. "Are you sure?" he said, diplomatically. "I would not want to impose," he said as he walked over to the table. His tray was oddly devoid of fish... mostly because nothing the school could do with fish would taste right to him. At least when they screwed up beef, he didn't realize it.

"Of course you aren't imposing. please, sit down." she said "Mars, this is Zeryn. He helped me travel to Xaviers, and is helping me settle in here. Zeryn, this is Mars. We just met, but she seems a delightful person." Mariuset had read a book on etiquette!

"And it's a pleasure to meet you as well, Delightful Mars," Zeryn said as he took a seat. "I stopped by your room to make sure you'd found where to eat, but thankfully that wasn't necessary," he added to Mariucet.

"The best of my understanding is that it is much less culinarily pleasing in the open air than the options grown in the open air," Zeryn said. "Also, there is little understanding of the subtle variety of types available in the depths."

"That would be a valid consideration." Mariuset replied, gingerly picking up a piece of lettuce "I shall have to adjust to the surface, if I am to make my home here."

"And hopefully no one tries to kill me this time," Mars says in a joking tone.

There wasn't much of a barrier between Mars' brain and mouth.
