Sep 26 - Lab Work

Up until recently maintained as a museum, the childhood home of the Braddock family has been pressed into service as additional housing and classroom space for the Institute. Additionally, the increased demands have led to the main ballroom being converted into a cafeteria for both the Institute and those University students on a meal plan. Student reactions have been mixed, and reports of paranormal activity are as of yet unsubstantiated.

Alone, in a darkened student lab, Maggie was taking turns staring into a microscope and writing down notes.

Kaylee stepped into the lab, her eyes locked onto the book she was reading. She slowly closed the door behind her, looking up for a moment to notice Maggie further in the lab. She smiled, closing her book and walking over in her direction. Once she got closer and Maggie was done with the microscope, she smiled and waved over in her direction to get her attention.

It took Maggie a second before she noticed that anyone else was there. She looked up a blinked once.

"Oh! Kaylee, right?"

"That's right. Good to see you again Maggie." She gestured towards the scope. "If you're busy, I can let you get back to what you were doing."

"No, it's fine, don't worry about it. I was doing homework before, but I was just testing something out. I really like what you've done with your hair by the way!"

Did I mention it was pretty dark in the lab?

She smiled. "Thank you." She said as she ran her fingers through it for a moment. "Though..I'm not really sure how you could tell." She glanced around, wondering where the light switches were. "Just what were you testing?"

"Oh, uh, sorry!" She hopped up from her chair and turned on the lights. "I can see a bit past ultraviolet. Which was kind of what I was looking in to with the microscope. Some germs really show up when they're put under radiation."

She smirked. "I'd know quite a bit about that. Though I didn't know you could see past ultraviolet..that's pretty cool. Actually, I'm not sure if Rick ever told me what your powers were exactly."

"Ultraviolet radiation-ish type stuff, pretty much." She shrugged. "I can burn stuff if I need to. Oh yeah, and this!"

The room suddenly looked like someone had turned on a black light.
