[Calvin Strong]

"No I don't," Cal said stubbornly. "I just... need pepper." And beef.

[Aisha Khan]

"Can you turn your tastebuds off?" Aisha asked

[Calvin Strong]

"I don't know. Probably? It's kind of like when you're trying to find the switch for something in a circuit breaker box. If you don't know which one you're looking for, you're probably going to turn the wrong thing off. And that can be bad sometimes."

[Haley Crusek]

"And that was how Cal shit his pants," Haley teased.

[Calvin Strong]

"No, that was how Cal turned off his heart. Oh, interesting fact, lots of things aren't as easy to turn back on as they are to turn off."

[Aisha Khan]

"Maybe you could ask about it in PC." Aisha suggested.

[Calvin Strong]

"Okay, really, what are the winged dufus and a werewolf going to know about that, even if it had anything to do with my power?"

[Aisha Khan]

"Because they know a lot!" Aisha said "Ms. Kalteria gave me some really good advice."

[Haley Crusek]

"Man, why do you hate them so much? They're just trying to help, and they're X-men so they obviously know a lot," she frowned.

[Calvin Strong]

"I don't hate them. I just think that the class is bullshit. They throw the prettiest faces at us to make us want to listen, and then go on about how great being a mutant can be and how it's such a great idea to play around with this big nuclear bomb that nature put in us."

[Aisha Khan]

"Oh, now your exaggerating." Aisha said "They do try really hard to get us to not be down on ourselves, but its not like they pretend its all kittens and ice cream."

[Haley Crusek]

"There is nothing beautiful about Miss Kaltiera when she changes. That's some nightmare shit right there. Yes, we have crazy powers and shit, but like...we need to know that you can control that shit."

[Calvin Strong]

"Hey, you guys need to get some stuff under control, I get that. I don't. And let's face it, you've learned more outside that class than in."

[Haley Crusek]

"Yeah, but you need to know how to handle everyone else's freakouts too."

[Calvin Strong]

"Heh, judging by the teacher they give us, when someone has a power freak out we go have sex with them."

[Haley Crusek]

Haley scowled, "will you stop being such a dick to them? Sure you can tell they were probably a thing at one point but who the fuck cares. At least their homework has a point unlike reading about the Holy Roman Empire or whatever shit Sackville is rambling about like he was fucking there for it."

"Um, no." Aisha said

[Calvin Strong]

Aaaaand reminded of your place. Again. Making a face, Cal started working on the tablet he'd been fixing, bowing out of the conversation.

"Seriously, if that was part of PC class, my parents would freaking flip." Aisha said.

[Haley Crusek]

"But seriously dude, what would you even do if my TK started going crazy right now? It's happened before, I'm sure it'll happen again."

[Calvin Strong]

"Yes, I know, I'm not as smart and awesome and whatever as our PC teacher. Happy?"

[Aisha Khan]

"Hey, can I try that." Aisha said, trying to change the subject "It smells interesting."

[Haley Crusek]

Haley let out an exasperated sigh and took a long drink of her Sprite.

Boys are stupid. See if he gets to second base anytime soon with an attitude like that. she thought WAY too loudly.

[Calvin Strong]

Cal froze in mid-assembly, glancing up once, then looking back down at his work. "Yeah, go ahead, try it at your own risk," he told Aisha.

[Aisha Khan]

"Ok, yeah. Let me get a fork." as she stood up she whispered "Oversharing, much?" to Haley.

[Calvin Strong]

"It's okay, I don't think anyone was figuring I was getting anywhere with her anyway," Cal put in without looking up.

[Haley Crusek]

Haley turned beet red and she covered her mouth with her hands.

[Calvin Strong]

"Yeah, I'll just... let you guys eat," Cal said, himself turning red as he started (carefully) packing up his things without looking up at them.

[Haley Crusek]

"No. I...I should go. You two hang. I. Fuck I'm such an idiot..."

[Calvin Strong]

"Nah, we know who the idiot is here," Cal said, picking up the companion cube and carefully putting it into a padded box before putting it into his backpack.

[Haley Crusek]

"No....damnit Cal, you're not... I..." Haley said, the flush not retreating from her face. "Please stay. I'll leave. I interrupted you guys having a perfectly nice time and apparently can't keep my inner monologue to myself."

[Calvin Strong]

"Nah, it's fine. Just saying what everyone's thinking. No pun intended. I'll see you guys later," Cal said, trying to speed up his retreat without making a mess of the half-assembled project he was fitting into his backpack.

[Aisha Khan]

"Yeah, I'll get out of here." Aisha said, suddenly going invisible, although only Haley would notice.

[Haley Crusek]

The tears that had started to well up in her eyes as she fumbled through her apology only fell faster once Aisha disappeared and Cal rushed through packing. Haley pushed away from the table and stormed out of the room, her vision blurred by tears.
